After being with this guy for 6 years, I am starting to see things in him much more clearly.
1. He has to say something negative about everything. i. e. do you want to eat this? "ew gross"
i. e do you want to go here "we'll have a bad time" i. e. do you want to read this book "looks like a terrible book"
THEN he has to say something positive about it, i. e man that was good green bell pepper, it tastes so good, wow we had such a good time, let's go again!, and "that book was so funny, why didn't you tell me it was such a great book!"
2. He never listens to me, i. e. I am not mad, "yes you are mad!", I don't want to talk about it anymore "we're going to keep talking about it, continues name calling and bad things he will do in the future"
3. Me telling me how others are treating me bad "Him", starts treating me the exact same way I just told him others were treating me bad. i. e. others call me a liar, he starts to do the same. i. e. others start calling me evil, root of all evil, he starts doing the same.
4. he also gets really angry and tells me that I'm the reason he gets angry. That I'm the root of all his problems.
5. When I talk to him about how others are treating me, instead of just saying "well that sucks" he straight up tells me to stop talking or hanging out with these people. These people are my friends! They are my family! I just want someone to empathize with, and he has zero empathy!
6. He pays back. i. e. If I buy something or goes somewhere, then he has to spend the same amount or more money (it's our money) and if I go somewhere, then he gets to go somewhere too. If I tell him to pick up after himself, then he tells me to pick up after myself too! i. e. I do 10 loads of laundry, and I ask him to do 2. he will tell me that if I tell him to do 2 loads of laundry, then he can tell me to do 2 loads of laundry too. i. e. If I tell him to pick up after himself, while I'm doing a million other tasks, then he has to tell me to pick up and clean the kitchen too! While I'm doing more important tasks! I Have to do 20 loads of laundry in silence, I have to clean up after him in silence or he will get really mad and we'll have a fight! What shall I do? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

When he gets frustrated or upset he shuts down, runs away or just goes off in the woods to be alone with his thoughts. When he comes back I am not to question him interrogate him or go on and on and on about things because he just can't deal with things anymore. But, here's the kicker so it's not he's using me for money because when he gets paid he spends all his money on me or puts it back into the place we are rebuilding. Then he's upset that he has nothing. Yeah, it's that strange. He is being paid by me to rebuild the place we live in. He volentired to do this and I tried to talk him out of it. Now I am out thousands of dollars and not one room has been completed in two years. When I try to talk to him and see if I can help him with what ever it is that is bothering him I am arguing with him? Then the problems always ends up being something I said or did. I wasn't nice enough when I asked or I was in a bad mood and it upset him or he's not feeling appreciated. Then I'll hear " I just want things to be happy and no drama" but, doesn't seem to see that his lack of effort to finish just one project is causing a lot of the stress. I've seen this before and want a male perspective Why do some men like my man who is really loving caring and giving people just stop dead in their tracks and stop doing things they promised they would with no real issue other than the "Well I don't feel you appreciate what I do here" Quip
I am not perfect but I do take good care of him. Our sex life is not an issue believe it or not. I cook clean do the laundry shopping and yes I like being a woman. He often says he just has a lot on his mind but won't a let me help him with things he is having issues with outside our relationship like X and kids.
He doesn't have a girl on the side. Yes I'm sure... It just makes no sense

My husband and I have been disagreeing a lot lately. He says he will help me out with the cleaning and cooking but when I clean he sees no point in it. He sees no point in doing laundry. I try to say I want help cleaning but he says because we live in my parents basement that he doesn't need to clean it up or put laundry away. It's gotten to the point where I have learned I can't hold him to the same standards as I want for myself. Do I have a right to ask him to clean a bit more?

Preface: My partner and i have always been hardworking full-time people so I have not noticed much of this earlier on. I first moved in with my partner and his father for over a year now and my partner and i have just had a child who is now 4 months. Which obviously means I have been a stay at home mum. Anyway, in the 3 months of the 4 month duration my partners father had trouble with work and is now unemployed so he now stays at home with myself and the child.

The point is. And I fully respect my father in law to be but oh my fck he is fcking lazy! He does not do any chores whatsoever and i have been cleaning for my partner and him for the 3 months i have been capable of moving about (had a cesarean). All he does is sit, watch TV, read, play with my son for a few minutes, sleep, eat ffs. This is everydamnday. I am fed up with it. Does not clean after himself. Is this appropriate for me to be cleaning up after him, cooking, doing his laundry etc etc? Is this also a role of a stay at home mum to do everything for him? I understand doing these things to a certain degree although he does not do anything. I am not exaggerating. I need opinions as I will snap eventually. We are a regular Australian family with no beliefs in our lives (such as how women do all for men). What do you think?
