So my ex and I broke up a little over a month ago. It was a week after my birthday when he did the breaking up. We've both since moved on to other relationships and I'm very happy. I feel kind of obligated to wish him a happy birthday since we were engaged and everything. I also know that he has been telling people that he's "torn up" by the break up and has been trying to make situations awkward instead of being an adult (he accidentally packed some of my stuff with his and made a big production returning it). Should I bother saying happy birthday or not?

I work in a company and I have been promoted. I have a new boss but my old one was an absolute c*** to me. She always talked down to me, was very patronizing, smirked when I wanted more responsibilities and made me look stupid.

I used to be nice to her and smile hi to her but then she started ignoring me and looking away.

Now I have stopped smiling at her and saying hello to her. Today was her birthday and I used to wish her a happy birthday but today, no.

Is what I am doing justified?

I had an ex, we were together for 1.5 years, the .5 long distance because I moved to another country.

I recently got close with one of his friends - I've know the guy from my ex, and he's a really good guy. We share the same values, and he has the characteristics I want in a boyfriend (honesty, humor, etc.)

We got really close really quick, even though we were long distance. We chatted all day, snap chatted, and Skyped (up to an hour). He said things like "You're beautiful" and "You make me happy too" and made plans for us to go somewhere when we got back, wherever I wanted, anytime I wanted.

Suddenly he tells me that we can't chat anymore, because he's busy for a national exam coming up, we're long distance, and my ex.

I asked him about how he felt about us and he said to me "I like you, but as a friend, not a girlfriend. I'm so so sorry if I've seemed like I'm playing with you. I'm telling you while we haven't gone too far. I'm confused, it's my fault. I know your ex isn't good for you, but at the moment, I'm not good for you either, I can't care for others and we're long distance. I really want us to be friends and not enemies" but he also said "I've never been this close with a girl, and I've never felt this comfortable with a girl"

I sent him a birthday present that's still on the way from when we were close.
I made him a digital portrait, which he made his profile picture and then his sister and her friend commented saying "wink wink you know that i know" and he told his sister "why did you tell?" my ex also commented saying "hey your girlfriend is looking for you" and he coldly brushed him off (he doesn't have girlfriend)

We chat sometimes, usually I initiate but he has too, he opens up about his day & feelings, but it's rarer and it's cut off suddenly and hot and cold, but we've just made plans to have lunch together and to have him teach me how to play the ukulele.

I don't get how he feels - please help me. Sorry for the long post!

My ex and I broke up a while ago because of his drug habits, and it's been hard to move on. Since then, I've been going out and meeting new people, leading to new crushes.

Guy #1: we've met up twice, the first time being an introduction by a mutual friend. He was sweet off the bat, and I was horrifyingly nervous around him. Second time we hung out was at a festival; he had my number and called, saying he wanted to hang out. He basically called/texted me until I got there, asking me "where are you? Are you here yet?" And other similar things. When we met up he seemed more animated and comfortable, often hovering around me and trying to involve me with his friends. The friend who introduced us says he may be taken.

Guy #2: we went to school together for 5yrs. He's a great guy, and I have liked him in previous years. Only recently. We started talking and hanging out. I invited him to my bonfire tomorrow and he said he'd come, asked if I ever tried Molly, and said he'd bring me some to try--for just me and him before the party, meaning he wants to hang out. I flirted more openly with him and said he was cute and suddenly he started talking more and using emojis a lot.

Guy #3: he's a drummer for a local band who invited me to one of his shows and to a party via facebook. When he first saw me arrive he came straight up to me and introduced himself and said he was glad that I could make it. after the show he invited me to another show and said he drive me there and back. Later he randomly asked how old I was;that's when I told him about my birthday party tomorrow he said he would come.

Then of course is my ex. We've been through a lot together together for two years, and even now we are still some of the closest of friends. He says it's not my fault we broke up, but his, and that I made him as happy as I possibly could have. Just recently, we actually had sex, and we acted as if we were still a couple.

So what do I do?
