A common point is that "women should have to give blood for their country like men do" but mothers HAVE given blood for (the perpetuation of) their country. More women have died in childbirth than men in combat throughout history[1] and even today[2].

And PTSD rates[3] from childbirth are equal to those of combat[4].

In a family with a single-mother, the reasoning for the mother not being drafted is obvious, but even in families with a mother & father, it's only fair that the man would protect his family, as compensation/equalization for the bloodshed the mother endured in bringing it into the world.

As a side-note, this entire situation isn't actually relevant to me personally; I have a disability where they wouldn't let me in the military even if I volunteered. I just feel bad for mothers being forced to take a double-burden.
