I mean mentally challenged you know I don't want to be offensive. I know that retarded is not the right word to use as its offensive. Yesterday I had this girl with one of her sisters and her mom come into my line as I was checking them out. She looked really happy to see me, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary either. Some people just smile back at me and I smile back. Her sister kept on saying no no to her. Then she told me I was cute and if I lived in the same town she did which I said yes with hesitation. Then she asked me for my number. I mean I was still flattered but I didn't say anything I just got red in the face a little. Then her mom told her that she was being very inappropriate when she asked me for my number. I just didn't want to say no to her either as I think she was mentally challenged, but I am not fully sure she was either lol. Her sister dragged her out of their after 30 long silent awkward seconds lol.

I finally asked out my crush/good friend the other day, after finding out she's single again. The last time she was single, I never asked her out, this time I went for it.
She said yes, but said it may not go past a first date because she doesn't think she will develop romantic feelings for a old friend.
After confirming our date the following day, I told her that I hoped I didn't make it awkward and I know to keep my expectation in check.
She didn't respond, and she said she was going to confirm the place a day ago. I asked her today how that place was and she hasn't responded still.

If I don't hear back by the night of or morning of the date. My thinking is that she ghosted me and our "friendship" is over in one way or another.

Am I wrong for thinking this? I was honest about how I felt, I asked her out and she said yes. So I don't know why this is going the way it is.
