This happened to me. At first I didn't care, but over time I started to build resentment because I think that a major part of the reason is me, because I have a heredity from my family and the wife of my brother in law doesn't. (My partner left the major part of their family wealth to his brother).
My fiance wants equal contribution from me in buying a house and living together, but he left his brother 2-3 times more of their family wealth and he even continues helping him with advice, and probably will continue to help him financially.
Some might think why care if he didn't take anything from me, but I feel taken advantage of because instead of defending the interests of our new family, he defends the interests of his brother and his wife.

PS: I wouldn't care if my partner had bad relationships with his brother of parents, but he continues to help them.

*****Long story Short Here, My Fiance sent me a Lovely Pendant and Next year the Rings will Come. It is his Birthday November 5th so I had Planned anyways to send a Nice Box of Special things, etc. Being his Brother just Died a week ago from MS, I thought it Only Proper to Include HIS FAMILY in my Box with some Small gifts, Cards, To let them Know I am Thinking of Them. I thought it was PROPER. Good thing I had asked him, He said being I will Meet them Next Year and They Don't know me Now right Now, Only Know OF ME, It would seem ODD to Them to Send a Gift to them. What are your Thoughts? I feel Hurt at the Moment, Maybe a Bit Buckaroo Richer, But my Heart of Gold is Feeling like I am a Stranger in the Family, Feeling LEFT OUT at the Moment. This is literally the premise for a show I'm watching where the soon-to-be groom decided in front of all their friends and family that he couldn't go through with their marriage which was kind of egged on by feelings he had for the brides best friend (whom he didn't know they were best friends when he met her). Later on the ex-fiance and the best friend end up dating in secret until they get exposed which surprisingly doesn't go well.

But in that situation, could you ever just be cool with your best friend dating your ex fiance? Is this not the ultimate breaking of girl/guy code?

My friend is pregnant by a guy she's known for 7 years, but has been with for 8-9 months.

Backstory: She was engaged to a different guy last March 2018. Her ex-fiance was with her for 8 1/2 years before they finally got engaged. Then he left her in October 2018. A week later, she was with new guy who is now baby daddy. Neither of them have other kids. I believe she's 2-3 months along.

I always believed in waiting until marriage to have kids. I don't necessarily think that will make a marriage last, but as a teacher, I see a lot of students have kids when they aren't ready, or I know parents who have kids (my students) with someone they thought they loved but several years later find out they actually hate them with a fire red regardless of age. It's great fun being in the middle of that and hear parents trash each other [sarcasm]. I teach 7th/8th graders.

I'm not necessarily jumping at the chance to have kids so I kept my opinion of her pregnancy to myself. But I think it's a topic that's not really discussed a lot in relationships so I decided to ask it here.

How long should you be with someone before having a child with them?
