In the movie F The Prom, a girl used to date someone who turned out to be a big bully & also left her for another girl. However, despite how he hurt her & how he was objectively a bad person (due to being a bully) she still cared about him, so she warned him about a prank before he fell trap to it.

Another boy did something similar. He used to be best friends with a girl, until high school when she abandoned him to join the popular clique, and didn't do anything to stop it when they were bullying him. She even dated the guy who ruined his reputation (by pantsing him on the first day of school when he was wearing tighty-whiteys, thus earning him the nickname Tighty which would follow him all 4 years). After that guy cheated on her, she reunited as friends with the boy nicknamed Tighty, an even had a budding romance with him. But then she went to prom with the jerk who cheated on her, thereby breaking Tighty's heart because she decided to go to prom with the guy who made Tighty's life a living hell. However, Tighty still cared about her, so he tried (but failed) to stop his friends from pulling a vengeful prank on her.

Although I think these people deserved what they had coming (especially the bully), I can understand why the girl and guy tried to protect them from harm. I've done the same thing because I cared about someone, because we used to be good friends, even though they were objectively a bad person & ended up hurting me.

So what about you? Have you ever done that?

Mind you, he's in the army, he's not here right now.
We started dating when he was out there but known each other since 10 years ago, reunited while he was away.

Broke up with me 6 months into the relationship saying, "I've never been committed before and don't know how it is to be with one female. You're a good woman and I don't want to end up hurting you. I did lie about being a Trump supporter and I did lie about wanting some serious in the future because I was trying to be the guy you needed and I don't think I can be. My mouth also gets me into trouble and I don't want to hurt you, I really don't. You don't need an asshole like me."

Then I respected his wishes and he I said I wish you the best and thank you for being honest with me. We hung up. He calls back like two hours later and says "I'm so sorry, please forgive me. I can't leave you, I really do love you and I'll do whatever it takes to be the man you deserve. I don't want to let you go, you mean a lot to me. I have to stop being a dick and just grow the hell up. It's not everyday I can meet a good woman like you."


After I forgive him, he says that when he broke up with him, he told his buddy and his buddy said, "Why would you break up with her? She's the only one who's there and does everything for you and helps you out. You need her!" So, that's what made him call me back, I'm assuming. I just feel why would he tell me what his friend told him if his friend meant wrong by it. You know?


What do you think his friend meant by that? Is he using me and saying that oh she's all you've got don't let her go. Or is he saying don't let her go she's a good woman, like he's stupid for that?
