Today, my mother prepared food and dad ate the meal, I complimented my mom's cooking as it was very good but dad didn't say anything. Later, when I asked my mom why dad didn't say anything, she said "Most husbands are like that. They never compliment their wives, they never buy them gifts, they never celebrate wives' birthdays, not even on special occasions like Valentine's Day, etc."

I said, "But, I often hear that a boyfriend gave his girlfriend a gift, they go out with their girlfriends, etc."

"That happens only before marriage, after marriage, it is gone and what left is a rock-like husband who has no feelings!"

"Really? But, even in TV shows, I have noticed husbands giving gifts to their wives, taking out them for dinner..."

"What TV shows show is not real. Most husbands are rock-like."

"Dad never compliments you?"

"Never, he never does that. If his dish is all clean without any substances, that means he liked the food but if there's still some food left, it means the meal wasn't good. Of course, not all husbands are like that. 2 out of 10 husbands are truly affectionate and loving towards their wives, others are rock-like and don't care about wives much. If you need confirmation, go ask the neighbors around."

So, I was wondering, is this really true? Husbands are rock-like without any feelings after marriage?

Okay this guy I met online asked to be my valentine date. I thought how cute, nothing serious and whatever.
He has work and he's actually swamped. He's been texting me everyday... saying good morning and goodnight. However the first day he text me he said I think it would be perfect to go out to eat, watch a movie, drink wine and go to a hotel. You on the bed and me on the couch. I pressed the breaks and asked are you looking for a hookup? He said no, he's looking for a girlfriend and he never really dated before. I started to stop texting a bit.. he said sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I want you as a sex object. I'm a bit weird hence why I've never had a girlfriend. Other than that fiasco he asks how my day is.. sends the good morning and night text, compliments me, says he likes me.
While all of this is cute and too good to be true... should I be weary? We are supposed to meet this weekend but he says he has a friends birthday party so we will try next week. He's a big weird.. and I like weird but should I watch out for him? Other than that situation he doesn't make me feel nervous or that he judges me. He says my personality and appearance is unique and he likes it.
