I recently met a wonderful girl but it turns out she has been friends since childhood with my former best friend who is now sort of an enemy.

I was really good mates with the guy for almost 10 years but we fell out badly in the last year of high school as he began sleeping with all of our friends girlfriends at one time or another and also the girl I was in love with and I basically told him he was a terrible person and wanted nothing more to do with him. He is no good and would cheat on anyone without any thought but seems to be able to convince people his a gentleman. People are easily taken in by him but he is an unpleasant character. After I ended our friendship he started to hate me and according to a mutual friend still does.

Would I stand a chance with this girl in this situation or will my horrible ex friend ruin things for me.

Gun control LAWS only control LAW abiding citizens. Period.

The criminals who don't obey the law in the first place won't be effected in the least. If there was not only a "ban" on the sale of new weapons but a seizure of all guns that are in the country... What would that do? Other than disarm the good guys? Other than create soft targets for any and all robbers, muggers, home invaders, gang bangers, car jackers? Not a damn thing except create mass chaos and what I would anticipate to be the worst crime spree in the history of the country.

The only fix for a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with one too. The beauty is you don't know which good guy has one and which one doesn't. The person who stops the mass killings of innocent children might not be the police officer in the school. Not the coach who was an ex marine... It could be the 3rd grade home room teacher weighing in at 115# who has a CHL and is sick of the bullsh*t deaths that occur because there is no one there to stop them.

I think putting an armed LEO in every school is not reasonable from a budget standpoint BUT... Taking 4 willing teachers along with the principal of the school. Paying for them to be trained for concealed carry and having a team on site ready as a rapid intervention team.

Consider this. Post 911 when you started hearing of the air marshal being on the commercial flights. Nobody knew who it was or which flight they were on. But, people knew the AM could be sitting right next to them. I think the general behavior was very different. If schools are no longer perceived as a soft target maybe these crazy bastards will pick another location for their senseless acts. Would it not make them rethink it if they didn't know which 4 of the 30 teachers were trained and would blow their head off their shoulders to protect the children?

When you talk of people not having access to guns and high capacity mags not being able to carry out these horrible acts. What is to stop someone from blocking the exits in a school and setting the building on fire? Wouldn't require a single gun and the deaths resulting would be far greater than anything ever seen in these shootings.

I have seen some threads on gun control which were old and people were against digging them up from the grave. I still think it is worthy of debate.
