I am moving into an unfurnished apartment for school.

My parents have been kind enough to agree to furnish it as I am basically... I have no money, let's be honest.

I need to furnish my bedroom. I will need a bed, a desk, and a dresser. I also will be needing to purchase a kitchen table.

The girl I will be sharing the apartment with has living room furniture already. I am supplying the plates as I already have them.

So. Question is, do I want to go for super cheap furniture or do I get nicer furniture for when I am done with college and move out on my own?

My mother is under the impression that I will be needing this furniture for when I leave home and live by myself.

So, do I save them a few bucks and go for super cheep stuff or do I push a little and see if I can get them to buy me nicer stuff?

For example, there's a compact unit for sale that includes a lofted twin bed with a desk for $300.

There is also a $35 dollar plastic fold out kitchen table set.

OR

There's a $500 queen sized bed frame with underbed storage, a headboard, matching dresser and nightstand. This does not supply a desk which is very inconvenient. Also, I sleep on a twin mattress at home so I would need to buy a queen sized mattress.

There is also a very nice 5 piece dining table set that would cost about $110.

If I went that route I would need to buy a desk. But there's a decent one for $50.

I'm inclined to want the "adult" pick because when I move out I don't particularly want to be sleeping in a twin bed. My boyfriend (who wishes to move in together after I graduate) also is not big on the idea of a twin size mattress :p

Soo... I could be super nice and ask my parents to spend like $500 (including the dresser I'd need to buy) or I could be mean and ask them to spend close to $1,000.

I'm torn. Do I be selfish or nah?

They are financially able to afford the expensive one, but they have always been very frugal with their spending.

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 6 years now. Well, it might soon end... Anyways my question is why is it that everytime i try to start something with him he either blows me off or keeps saying wait hold on. Yet he wants it at any given time, even when im dead tired after work. I think its very unfair. Also he never lets me go down on him. He tells me that i never do anything and finally told me im terrible in bed... 😑
First of all he never lets me do anything!!! I don't understand why. I feel crappy now because i feel like its my fault when its not. This whole time im the one who feels so unwanted that i go out of my way to try new things and i get automatically shut down. I don't know if he expects me to be a pro or something when im not allowed to do anything. He tells me thag there is no more spark or fire between us, even though im the one always trying to set up some kind of get away or date. I never understood how you can tell someone that they are perfect and how much you love them and do this bull. I just dont know what to do. I feel like I've been with a child who thinks its okay to break it off like once a month just because he gets mad. People ask how I put up with it, and i guess i just love him that much and believe that people can change. But 6 years is just a long time. I need some advice. Should i still fight to fix my relationship or just let him have his way and leave me... Again? I've tried just moving on but he comes right back within 2 weeks. And yet again i fall for it. I want to be with him but im tired of being treated more like a friend. He has changed me so much. He tells me to act like a lady but how can i when he doesn't treat me like one? We are both leaders and clash a lot so we fight but he's the selfish spoiled brat who doesn't understand how much he can really hurt someone.

I haven't been excited for my birthday since I was about 17. I'm turning 22 in less than a week.

I've grown to hate my birthdays... and I feel I'm being selfish for my reasons.

-My 16th birthday onwards has only been men - my brothers, my dad and my grandpa, and boyfriend if I had one at the time.

-Every year, my family didn't know what to get me. So they would get me things like, an ice cream machine, bread machine, tyre inflator, and spoons (For Christmas too)

-Nobody but me can bake. If I wanted a cake I had to make it myself. Spoils the surprise if you bake, decorate and bring to the table your own cake.

-This year, my brother has discovered he's gluten free. My other brothers don't live here. And my dad and Grandpa are diabetic. So there's no point making myself a cake that only I can eat.

-Even today, my whole family have asked when I want as a present. All I said was 'please don't get me anything large to store' (my bedroom literally has room for a small dresser, chest of draws, a bed, and 1 chair. I don't even have room for a wardrobe. My room is about 6-7 strides long and 3 across.)

-Two of my four brothers ignore my birthday entirely. I'm lucky to get a text a week afterwards. Whereas I am the sort to remember everyone's birthday and always make an effort

Do I have a right to resent my birthday? I'm more excited for my partners birthday the day before, every year I feel miserable about my own. I feel bad because my family do make an effort but I wish sometimes they wouldn't. But if they didn't I'd feel awful too.

Ok... I don't want to sound overly attached nor an evil-gf but this happened...

For few years me and my friends were planning this week-long trip with camping and lots of fun. So the day has finally come, everyone's ready... And I got ill. I had temperature, I couldn't speak and my head felt dizzy, and then I didn't know whether it's a simple fever or a serious infection.

Anyways. It was obvious that I couldn't go and I was super sad. However, my boyfriend, who also was going there, simply wished me luck and went to a trip the very next day.

It's ok, I didn't get that mad... but I myself would have stayed... I couldn't get out of bed for 3 days and even now I'm recovering.

So, do you think, him going to the trip instead of nursing me (much selfish such a b*tch) is OK behavior in relationships?
