I've been dating my boyfriend for about 3 months and his brother has schizophrenia/bi-polar. The first episode was maybe a few weeks after I started dating my boyfriend. My boyfriend Chad came home and the house was a mess. Mud on the floor, food all over the kitchen, his door and his dads kicked in. I stayed over the next day and for part of the day his brother was lying on a mattress jabbering incoherently. A day or two later and he was back to normal.
The next episode was a few weeks ago. Chad and I were hanging out in his room and his brother started on about how the VA was poisoning people and how he needed to go to D. C. to tell the president. 30 minutes later he comes back YELLING that there was carbon monoxide poisoning in the house and we needed to get out. He kicked in Chad's door and pulled him out of the house. He grabbed me by my wrist to take me out. Chad called the cops and his brother was taken to a hospital. He was put on medicine but Chad just told me that his brother is going to stop taking them.

So how do I react when he goes into an episode? Do I confront him? Resist? That's what Chad does. I usually go along with whatever he wants so nothing bad happens.
