To clarify, I'm 19, in my first year of college, and have never had a girlfriend prior to this.

My college has an art club, and though I usually don't join clubs, and never have in elementary, middle, or high school, I decided to, since I'm open to being more social than I was in the past.

And the club itself is fun. I mean what can I say? We get to draw, and everyone in the club seems supportive and friendly for the most part.

One girl, though, a pretty blonde with fair skin, started to talk and open up to me right away. I'm usually an introvert, but once she started talking to me, I talked back to her. I guess I noticed little hints she liked me. She would smile and laugh often, even when what I said wasn't necessarily funny. Sometimes she would come close to me for no exactly good reason, like to tell me what I could improve on my drawing, she'd get up and stand right next to me, to the point where I could smell her perfume and feel her hair on my face.

I mostly brushed it off as her just being friendly though.

Till one day, as we were walking out of the club meeting room, she told me she really liked me and wanted to go out on a date with me. And so we did.

We mostly just sort of walked around together, talking. We stopped by a few places to get snacks such as ice cream. Then we stopped by her home. And so on and so forth.

We had a great time and I felt as if we've grown closer. And we've hung out several times since, and at this point it's more about spending time with someone we love, than "dating."

But whenever I'm near her, I feel a bit nervous all the time. Though every time I make a mistake, she just smiles, brushes it off, and comforts me. She also hugs me a lot, leans up against me, sometimes lays down on me, wants me to spoon her, etc. And I've never touched someone in my life so much prior to her. My family isn't touchy feely, nor have any of my friends been.

I love her but sometimes feel she's too good for me.

Growing up as a kid, I never really liked physical contact. My family was relatively touchy feely, but I never got into it. I just found it cheesy when my mom would hug and kiss me. I never saw the point. After expressing my dislike, she stopped when I turned like 13 or so.

I never got the point of friends hugging. I'd accept them to not be rude, but I never saw the point.

However, with my girlfriend... I can't be near her and NOT be touching her. I just love being near her so much. Even when we're just surfing the web on our phones, I loved being leaned up against her, heads touching, cheeks touching... it's just so comforting.

I hate it when my girlfriend's family members or her friends try to hug me. They think that all because they're so close to her, and I'm her boyfriend, that they can hug me. I accept not to be rude, but my girlfriend is the only one I want hugs from. Not her mom, not her dad, not her other friends, etc.

For context, we've known each other since we were like 10. We're both 19 now.

I'm a bit of a shy nerd, and she's a very athletic, outgoing girl. Though we never exactly had a bunch in women interest wise, we're both very open about each other's hobbies, and we're both quite sweet and kind to one another, though we're not afraid to tease or engage in banter.

Recently though, she began to be quite touchy feely with me. It all started with her saying, "Hey, you're one of my best friends I've ever had, and we've known each other since we were kids, do you mind if I hug and peck you on the cheek from now on?" And I thought it was a bit weird, but I didn't deny it.

When seated next to each other, she also tries to deliberately get super close to me. Sometimes so close to the point to where our cheeks are touching. And she comments on how soft my skin is, and I say hers is even softer, and though I see no visible blushing, her skin feels quite warm.

She even does this at the beach... I don't know if it's any different, but we're both almost naked, her in a small bikini, me in swimming trunks so short they're almost a speedo, and she gets super close to me.

I don't know if she likes me but is too shy to say it and is hoping I'll ask her out, or if she's just a nice, touchy feely girl in general, or if we're already dating but I'm too oblivious to notice, but... something must be going on, lol. I don't know.
