Strange guy behavior? Please explain...*please no judging* ?

So a couple weeks ago I ran into my ex at the bar. Not just any ex... my FIRST LOVE.
We weren't drunk but both very tipsy.
We bonded and talked about past times (I hadn't seen him in years but we were engaged for a while so it was serious).
Him and his friend invited me to their buddies house afterward. We went over there, sat on the porch and drank beers. Talked about life and sang songs.
I went to smoke a cigarette on the steps, sat down next to his friend, and my ex was sitting in a chair behind me... he casually put his foot on my ass like his tip toes in his shoe were against my ass crack. But it was dark and he did it ever so casually that no one else noticed. Was this a territorial thing? I really want to know this lol do you dudes do these kinds of things out of territory reasons?
The whole night afterwards he was very touchy feely. And even held my hand and kissed me, he played the song "say you won't let go" by James Arthur OF ALL SONGS... Only problem is----we both are with other people and have kids with other people/complicated situations like mortgages etc... I would never cheat and honestly neither would he so we stopped ourselves from having sex but we did kiss and it still felt like an electric current running through me... the tension was high and I definitely still love him and think he loves me too... so this was very odd. It even seems like he hasn't been happy and is depressed---he gained 80 lbs easily... it shocked me to see him so big, it actually hurt me. Made me feel like he has been depressed without me.
For the first few days I felt bad for what I did to my guy---but he has cheated on me 3 times before and I have forgiven him... so in the same instance, I don't feel bad. We are all in our 30s and I just feel like life is passing me by...

do you think he's still in love with me? and do you think he was being territorial? has anyone ever been in this same situation?
