My husband and I are gearing up to buy our first house early 2022.

I've been looking at our finances and I believe we will be able to afford around the $350,000 mark.

My in-laws do well for themselves and have offered to buy us a house and then we would pay them back monthly like a mortgage but they would not require us to pay interest.

They have purchased all the homes for his siblings and their spouses and are being paid back. His siblings are 32 and 30. My husband is 26.

While I think that this would be a very nice gesture on their part and I know it would save us a lot in interest, I'm uncomfortable with the idea.

His parents have been known to tell their other children that they own their homes and kind of guilt them into making certain changes to the homes because "they own it." Everyone says they're joking but yet the changes seem to happen.

Also they have been known to invite themselves over randomly. Heck, my husband and I live in 5 States away and we were informed on Monday that they will be visiting Friday (today) - Wednesday.

I find this behavior really invasive but my husband just accepts that this is how things are. We are tentatively planning on moving back to the area they live when we buy a house since both are families are there but I really don't think I can handle random uninvited visits all the time.

My husband is fully on board with his parents buying us a house and thinks I'm being ridiculous because I'm hesitant. Should I just go with it to save the extra money or dig in my heels to buy it ourselves?

They are truly very sweet people and I love them, but I'm uncomfortable with how financially involved they still are in the lives of their adult children.

Long story short: my boyfriend and I were together for just over a year, we’ve both been there for each other to doctors appointments, he helped me lose weight and encouraged me to get my drivers license and was always cooking for me... always very affectionate as well... his parents really love me as well - especially his mom... she was even inviting me over for the holidays and teaching me about Judaism and baking with me and driving places with me... my boyfriend and I were also living together at his parents house for 5 whole months as well and everyday I was visiting him at the hospital when he ha surgery and he was ther for me when I had a minor surgery as well... he was in jail for 3 months cuz he drive with an invalid drivers license and I waited for him and everyday he was calling me and his mom and telling. Me that he loves me and wants a future with me and was making future plans with me... also was encouraging me to spend time with his family... now when he retired back, we had some miss understandings and a fight and we took a break.. he met this aggressive bitchy goth chic who always fights him and abuses him... he was begging me to come back for 2 whole weeks and even gave me a mermaid necklace cuz he knows I love the little mermaid...
he always hugs me and kisses me in his sleep and whispers that he loves me so much and sometimes even holds my hand in his sleep... but that other abusive woman is still around and he tells me he doesn’t love her at all and that I have better qualities than her... his mom even tells him that she prefers me over the other woman and his dad can’t stand her either... his parents tell him I’m more suitable for him as well... this other woman bruised him and beat him up as well...

he someotimes gets into bad/sad moods when I leave his place... does he still love me and seem to regret the break we took?
