I've never had much affection I avoid it bc it makes me uncomfortable. But I'm seeing a guy who I really like and for the first time I really desire to be held and hold someone.

Problem is I can't come remotely close to say hugging him or just laying my Hand or head or whatever on his body or really anything. Just thinking of doing anything makes me feel like I'm being needy or clingy or a weak person. Though I know the weakness would be letting myself settle for what I don't want bc I'm uncomfortable trying. But none the less I think of myself expressing affecrtion and I think of a person I dont want to be. And though it'd suck if he felt equally turned off by me as I would , his reaction is not my main concern.. it's MINE towards myself.

I sense her feels awkward too though in his case I'd if he's just shy or he too feels embarrass to desire or express affection.

It's very frustrating bc it's the main thing is like to experience and I'd what I'm doing in a relationship where I'm not doing the main thing I want to be doing.

Plus it builds up a lot of tension which adversely affects time we spend together doing other things.

Plus ill never ever be ready to have sex if I can't get Comfortable touching him and vice versa.


Anyone here have gone through this? And or have suggestions?

We are not having sex I'm a long way ft from that. I've never been in a relationship so it's all new, but I notice he only ever touched me if we're kissing. He's affectionate then but only if kidding... Dues he need to be distracted bc he's Ashland to be affectionate? I don't mean sexually I mean affection physically.

Also if I touch him when we're not kidding he kind of freaks out. I'm not comfortable with affection so maybe he's getting a weird vibe, but I want it so I'm trying lightly subtly very slowly.


Dont tell me it's bc he is a guy and guys are not used to affection. I have not been lovingly touched by a single person since I can remember- partly bc I learned to reject it by being starved if it as a child- and I'm still aware that it's important. And I want it. And it's not that he doesn't do it just when he can ignore it it be distracted... I don't get it.

What can I do? It's really important to me like I'd say no point in a relationship without it but it's hard to talk about. I feel really awkward even knowing how much it matters to me. Lke it shouldn't but it does. I'm torn between working on it and feeling like I should just get over it and be detached.
