Generally a lot of people on GAG would compare personality and looks as on the same scale leaving money entirely out of it. But, the reality is, for many women, the ability for her man to financially support her, whatever her needs, does sometimes come into the equation within a relationship.

My question is this. Consider two equally handsome or ugly men, looks are not a factor, the only characteristic is that they are equally that (imagine, twins).

One of them is incredibly charming, caring, and supportive, generally the all-round good guy, and funny and spontaneous to boot. The catch is, he hasn't got two dollars in his bank account and, generally, the money he gets is immediately spent on god knows what, not only has he no money, but he has no money sense, and no sense to save. If you date this guy, he is likely to spend quality time with you, you guys will get on like no-one else in the world, however, not only will he be unable to support you, you will be required to support his, probably well-meaned, but in the end, fruitless, endeavors, in which case, you are also out of pocket. In the end neither of you will be financially successful and this man's habits will prevent you from being otherwise in the future.

On the other hand you have a guy who is a complete tool. He generally sits in his room, and the only time he goes out is to scrounge for more money or look for adoration. He is mean, ruthless, ill-tempered and a bore to be around. However, he is the CEO of a multi-billion dollar corporation and he has so much money in his bank account and coming in through revenue streams he employs people to willfully spend it (on useless things because he is a d***head. So no charities or anything), if you date him, he will rarely spend time with you and the rest of the time will be spent berating and possibly abusing you, but in the meantime, you will have so much money you can't count the zeros.
