New York

New York is known as "The Empire State." It is located in the north eastern region of the US and is the third most populous state in the United States with 19 million residents. It houses one of the most well known cities in the world, New York City, which is home to about 9 million of the states residents and is famous for it's many attractions and tourist destinations like the Statue of Liberty and Times Square. New York was also part of the original 13 colonies, was the first state requiring license plates, toilet paper was invented here, and NYC was the first capital of the United States where George Washington, the first ever US president, was sworn into office.
