how long can you go without checking your phone?

Back when I was a teen (early 2000's) technology wasn't like it is today. Social media was in its infancy (except for MSN messenger and Myspace) and we didn't have smart phones. This meant that when we wanted to talk to the opposite sex, we had to talk to them face-to-face, we didn't really have the option of interacting via technology.

I see so many teens here asking questions like "how do I talk to girls/boys?" or "what do I say to him/her?"

This made me think: Do you think technology (i. e. social media, texting, etc.) has made it easier or harder for teens to interact with the opposite sex?

On one hand, I believe technology allows teens to interact with members of the opposite sex without as much social awkwardness, however, I think it has had a negative impact on face-to-face communication skills.

What do you think?

Listing big distros and "other" because you can only list 7 options, not because I don't acknowledge other distros

I personally have 2 or 3 OSes on my laptop at once, usually Win7 pro, Kali and sometimes Tiny Core or Slacko (Puppy) just to resize partitions. I'm currently dedicating my laptop to OpenMandriva and Mint (Cinnamon desktop) because I'm almost physically sick of looking at the GNOME 3 desktop. KDE is prettier, and like a breath of fresh air. At the end of the day, I'm still more comfortable with a Debian-based OS.
