I have mixed feelings about this. This used to be something that only really occurred in developing countries, such as Egypt.

However, it's still in place in countries like Thailand, which are quickly becoming middle income nations. And worse, developed countries are beginning to get in on the game, with New Zealand becoming a recent example.

I also have a problem when it's in place in countries that receive a lot of aid from abroad, some of which is spent on those same attractions that foreigners pay extra for.

To give an idea of how great the differences can be, Indian citizens pay 40 rupees to get into the Taj Mahal, whereas foreign nationals from outside the SAARC pay 1000 rupees. That's quite a difference. https://www.tajmahal.gov.in/ticketing.html

What do you think? Fair or not?

Where would you want to live? City, suburbs, or country? Why would you live there? Personally, I don't like the city. The city is just too busy, it's exhausting. The suburbs are nice, but sometimes the quality of living there is reduced with bad neighbors. So, I'd love to live in the country. It's spacious and relaxing.

You can't choose a mix of either. So no staying home and occasionally traveling.

So take in consideration the advantages of staying at home and traveling.

Since it's likely traveling will get the preference there are a couple disadvantages that need to be considered;

- potentially high costs with it being harder to afford traveling
- the longer you travel, often the less impressive new things seem to be
- Actual contact with a bit more distant family is far harder
- You never get the familiarity of home in a place unlike an actual home you grew up in
- Homesickness is a potential issue

Automatic downvote to anybody who mentions the words 'Trump', 'America' or any synonyms for either of those. I'm also not referring to absolute monarchies, like Brunei or Swaziland.

I'm talking about proper police states, or countries where the elections are judged to be neither free or fair and NOT countries run by elected politicians you happen to disagree with.
