In particular, the marchers are apologizing because women of color did not take part in the event.

Notwithstanding, the reality that Eureka is 75% white could be the real reason women of color are not taking part, Reason speculates. By and large, the March is trying to recruit women who do not live in Eureka.

I've heard both sides of the argument, white people can say it because it's just a word but black people are the only ones who can say it because it was their ancestors who were called it. Personally I don't think anyone should say it. It's rude and I would never call someone it and I don't know why other would.

Personally, I think not. People today had no idea the suffering their ancestors went through and they can't use it like they did, I have ancestors who were in the same position and I'm not upset over it and using it for my own gain. Not to mention the fact that there has been so many other injustices done to so many other people but slavery is the only one brought up. I don't see Jewish people hating Germans for what happened and it's because it's in the past. And did you know the native American tribes are still being forced off their land? And no one talks about that either. I just think the slavery thing is over used as a way to justify being racist.

There was an article of a 10 year old shooting themself. A 10 year old, not even a teenager yet. Earlier a 7 year old. Just a baby and they're being bullied so extreme that they're killing themselves to get away from it. Why has it come to these extremes? A few decades ago there wasn't nearly as many suicides from bullying.
