I forgot my password!
If you have forgotten your password, visit our Forgot Password page and enter your email address. As long as your email address matches an account in our records, your user credentials will be sent to you within 15 minutes. To change your password:
1.Sign in to your account
2.Click on the tab "Account" next to your username
3.Click on the very last tab on the right "Settings"
4.Under the tab "Login Information", type in your new password.
5.Click "Save"

How do I ask a question?
It's easy! Click the "Ask a Question" tab at the top of the site or click the Ask a Question button in the header of each page. You will be taken to a new page or a slide-down will appear where you can enter your question. You can also enter your question on the homepage under the "Ask a Question" header.

Why do you limit characters in Questions and Answers?
We have character limits in place to help keep content quick to read and easy to respond to. If you need more room, simply write a Story (sign in to your account and click My Stories) where you have an unlimited space to express yourself!

How can GirlsAskGuys members contact each other?
Members have two ways to communicate directly and indirectly. You can communicate indirectly through questions, answers and stories. You can communicate directly by sending and receiving messages to the member(s) of your choice. To send your first message, visit the member's profile and enter your message in the "Send a Message" feature.

What is Xper?
GirlsAskGuys utilizes a point system to recognize every member of the site for the invaluable expertise they provide to our community. The point system is based on the actions a member takes, such as asking questions or posting answers. This point system also encourages a greater level of participation with more value given to better answers. While a member can not lose points for any action, he or she may lose potential points when his or her questions, answers, comments, articles, profile information or the likes are removed during moderation. By moderating user actions, GirlsAskGuys not only provides better quality content, but also ensures that more points are given to those who deserve them. When will I receive my Xper points?
Xper points are calculated nightly, but it may take up to 24-48 hours to appear on your account. If your Xper points do not increase after that time frame, please note that an entry you submitted might have been removed, or a question that you answered might have been removed. If you want further details regarding why your Xper points were not added to your total, please contact us.

What kind of questions can I ask?
As long as your question is not abusive or grossly offensive, you can ask anything! Because the site is dedicated to relationships between men and women, questions should be related to dating, love, sex, entertainment, breaking up, fashion and other related subjects. Please note that GirlsAskGuys is not a substitute for professional advice or counseling. We reserve the right to delete or reject questions on a case-by-case basis if we consider them abusive.

What is a featured question?
By redeeming your Xper points, you can turn your questions into a Featured Question. Featured Questions are kept at the top of recent questions and its category page for 24 hours. This exposure gets more answers for your question!

How do I feature a question?
To feature your question, check your account to be sure you have enough Xper points to redeem, post the question you would like to be featured, and contact us with a link to the question you would like to be featured. We do not feature questions in the Sexuality category. For more details, read our Xper Points page.

I put in request to have my question featured a few days ago. Why hasn’t my question been featured?
When you request to feature a question, we put your request into a queue. We feature questions based on a "first come, first served" basis. It may take a while to feature your question, but not to worry--we haven't forgotten about you! We are just featuring questions in order of request.

How will I know when my questions have been answered?
You will receive email notifications when there is a new answer posted to your question.

How do I answer a question?
Simply click the "Answer" link under the question you'd like to answer. A text box will appear wherein you can enter your content. Then, click "Submit Answer." Please note that you will need to be signed in to answer a question.

Can I edit or delete my questions and answers?
No. Once you have submitted a question or answer, you cannot delete it. We very rarely remove posts, but we encourage you to contact us and we will be happy to assist you if there are issues with a particular post. If you would like a post to be changed to "Anonymous", please take the following steps:
1.Log in to your account
2.Go to the "Home" page
3.Click on "Questions" on the right side of the screen
4.Click on the question title that you would like to change
5.At the bottom of the question box, check the "Anonymous" box

How do I keep my questions, or answers anonymous?
When posting a question, or answer check the “Anonymous” box. If you would like to go back and change a previously posted question to “Anonymous,” find the question you have posted; You can go to your "Account" and click on the "Questions" tab, in which you can locate your question. Once you are in the question page, check the "Anonymous" box located below the question details, next to the "Submit Update" button. To make your profile private, log in to your account, and go to your "Account" page. Click on the "Settings" tab, which is the very last tab on the right. You will see a "Privacy Settings" section. Check the box that says "Set Profile Private."

Why was my question, answer, or comment deleted?
GirlsAskGuys reserves the right to edit content to ensure quality and to remove content that is inappropriate or abusive. We will remove content that breaks the law, is indecent or obscene, which defames anyone based on race, religion, disability, etc, or which is otherwise viewed as offensive by contemporary community standards. For more information please see our guidelines.

You will receive an email with a general explanation as to why your posting was removed. If you would like further details, please copy/paste the content of that email into a message thru our contact us page, and we will provide you with specific information regarding the decision to remove the post..

When can I select a rating?
You can rate questions, answers and stories at any time.

No. Once you have selected your rating, you cannot change it. If you really want to change it, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

Can I rate a question or answer even if I haven't posted anything?
Sure! Just because you are not participating in the dialogue does not negate your opinion on its quality.

Will others be able to see my personal email address?
No. We do not display anyone's personal email address anywhere on GirlsAskGuys. Messages can be sent and received through the "My Messages" feature within your account.

Will my questions and answers be seen by the public?
Yes. Your questions, answers and stories will be posted on the web and viewable by the public. You can choose to ask or answer anonymously in which case the content is viewable but your profile is not associated with it.

What happens to users who spam the site?
We will remove their account. If a member is going beyond spam and into security violations, we will take legal action.

How can I report abuse?
When you click on a question's title, you will be taken to the question page with answers below. Underneath the question box is a "Report" link. Click this and the question will be submitted to our moderation team wherein we will review and take actions appropriate to the offense.

If you feel a user has harassed you via GirlsAskGuys Messaging, Meebo IM, or any other way, please copy/paste the conversation, and send it to us immediately via "contact us". This helps us gather details regarding the user. You may also block a user to prevent any future messaging. To do so, go to the user's profile page, and click on "Block".

When questions or answers are reported for abuse, are they automatically deleted?
No. Each abuse report is reviewed by our moderation team and we determine the action appropriate for the offense.

How can I block a user and what does it do?
You can block a user by rolling over their username or visiting their profile and clicking the "Block Him" or "Block Her" link. Blocked users cannot send you a message, start a Meebo IM session, add a comment to your answers, stories or articles or answer your questions.

Why is there a discrepancy between the totals on my profile page versus my ranking?
Members earn points for asking or answering questions anonymously. These points will be reflected in your overall ranking but will not display in your profile in order to maintain your privacy.

How do I cancel my account?
If you would like to cancel your account, simply login to GirlsAskGuys and click "Account" in the top, right module which will take you to your account main page. Then click "Settings" and scroll down until you see "Cancel Your Account" at the bottom of the page. Enter the reason you are cancelling and click the "Cancel Account" button. Your account will then be cancelled from GirlsAskGuys but your questions and answers will remain visible.

If you would like to keep your account but stop receiving emails please uncheck boxes under "Email Settings" and you will no longer receive emails for daily or weekly updates.

What is a "Poll Question" and how can I ask one?
Poll Questions are an exciting feature that allow you to design your own short survey or poll. Enter a Question Title and Question Details, just like you would a regular question, and then enter two to five answers that members can choose from in a multiple-choice format. This is a great way to get advice when you are trying to make a decision and would like input based on the choices you know you have. You must be an Xper Level 4 in order to ask a Poll Question. How do I get more answers?
Make sure to add a title that both interests readers and clearly defines your question, then check your spelling and grammar for any errors. Do NOT type your question in all CAPS. Be specific about the question you are asking or advice you are seeking and give clear details about your question so members can better help you but don't make it too long, either. Also, add details to your profile so that members can know a bit about you to advise you better. Answer other users' questions to increase the visibility of your profile. And having a unique profile picture to draw attention to your post never hurts.

What is "Reality Check"?
Reality Check is a feature of GirlsAskGuys where users can create profiles under various themes (for example, "Would you date me?") by answering a number of questions and uploading a related picture. The user will then be rated and given comments on their profile by other GirlsAskGuys members and non-members. A number of themes are available, some specific to guys, some specific to girls, and some for both genders. New themes will be added in the future. Learn more

Who are Followers?
Followers are Site members who seem to have liked your advice and decided to follow you, so that next time when you post a question, an answer, a comment or a story, they can get notified by the Live Feed. They are your fans. If you are uneasy about someone following your activities, no worries; you can just block them. Keep in mind two things if you decide to block a follower. Someone can still follow your activities such as your questions, answers and stories from your individual profile page even when you block them from following you thru the Live Feed. Furthermore, those members who you block, will not be able to respond to any of your entries such as answering your question, commenting on your answer or your story, or sending you a message. So use the block feature with caution.

How can I follow other members?
You can go to the member’s profile and click on the ‘Follow’ button. And at any point you would like to stop following anyone, you can go to your ‘Friends’ section and ‘Unfollow’ the person.

Who are Friends?
If your profile is set to Private but you would like some site members to see your Profile Information, you can add those members as a Friend so they can see your details. These details are “Profile Details”, “About Me”, “Pictures” and “Friends”. If you decide to end your Friendship with a member, you can “Unfriend” them as easily, too.

Where can I see a list of members that I have blocked, or I am friends with?
In your Account page, if you click on the Friends section, you will see the members who you are following, the members who are following you, the members who you have blocked, the members who are your friends, the members who you have requested to become friends with, and the members who requested to become your friends.

What is a Wall Post?
A Wall Post is a utility where you can send a member a message for the whole world to see. These messages are posted to the members Wall and will be visible by everyone. If you’d like to thank someone for their advice or give them props for all to see, Wall Post is your pick!

What is GirlsAskGuys Meebo IM?
GirlsAskGuys Meebo IM is where you can exchange ideas, answers and advice or just chat with other site members real-time, without having to give away your personal Instant Messaging information. This way, you can still protect your privacy. GirlsAskGuys Meebo IM is open to only Site members.

Can I send an Instant Message to someone directly?
Yes, when you are in a member's profile page and if he or she is online, you can click on the "Chat Live" button and send them an instant message directly. This message exchange will only be visible by the two of you.

How do I enable Meebo IM?
Meebo IM is enabled and available as soon as you are signed in to your account. If you are using an old browser such as Internet Explorer 6, you will need to upgrade your browser to be able to see the Meebo IM bar at the bottom of your browser.

How do I enable/disable the notification sound in Meebo IM?
The notification sound is enabled by default. If you'd like to disable it, select the chat menu button in the lower right corner of any GirlsAskGuys page and click on the speaker image on top of the friends' list

How do I disable Meebo IM or appear offline?
You can stop receiving Meebo IM messages by going offline. Open the chat menu in the lower right corner of your browser and click "Go Offline" to stop receiving Meebo IM messages. You will appear offline in your friends' list and your friends can only send you offline chat messages.At this time there is no way to completely disable the Chat feature from your account.

How do I start a conversation with someone using Meebo IM?
You can start a conversation with anyone by clicking on the "Chat Live" button on the profile page of a member when they are online. You can also send your friends offline chat messages.

Can I chat with more than one friend in the same conversation?
At this time you can only chat with people on a one-to-one basis. Group chat is unavailable.

We currently do not support the use of Chat with other third party applications.

How do I block someone from sending me a Meebo IM message?
You can block a site member by going to his/her profile page and clicking on Block. Likewise, you can also block someone in the chat window by clicking on Block.

What is Live Activity or Live Feed?
Live Activity Feed is a tool that displays member activity in real time. It has two sections, where in one you can see all members’ activities, and in the other you can see the activities of your friends and the members you are following. It is just like following members' activities from their profile pages individually, but why not follow them all at one spot.

What are Contests?
Contests are scheduled regulary and can last anywhere from a week to four weeks. Any member can enter a contest and share his/her funny and embarrassing stories, best pieces of advice, and craziest memories, can enter a chance to win!

We currently do not have a smart phone application, but you should be able to access GirlsAskGuys.com via the browser on your smart phone.
