Im talking about medical research only, NOT cosmetics. There has been many protests to shut medical research facilities that use animal experimentation.

However if you know anything about medicine, then you would know that many, if not most meds have been tested on animals, particularly vaccines like polio and surgery techniques for parkinson's disease have also been achieved through this. And currently animal testing is being done on monkeys to test out new medication for HIV.

The issue is that monkeys are intelligent creatures and of course clearly get distressed being in small cages, and go through immense torture and death for the sake of humans.

Before you say that there could be other methods of experimenting to test drugs for humans, the thing is there isn't really just yet for most meds.

Sacrificing 200 monkeys saves 200,000 people. But should animals have to go through the trauma and torture for the sake of humans? What's your opinion on it? Worth it or not?
