For decades, the anti-choice movement has attempted to brand itself as “pro-life,” but it’s not hard to see through their bs. As “pro-life” Republicans remain focused on criminalizing abortion, it’s not lost on Americans that this is the exact same Republican party that is hellbent on harming women and families with their regressive policies.
It’s pretty hard to call yourself “pro-life” when you’re actively working to:
Imprison or execute women who access safe abortion care. Tear babies away from their parents and lock them in cages, with no plan to reunite them. Silence doctors and strip reproductive healthcare away from millions of low-income people. Stand by while the maternal mortality rates skyrocket and women—especially Black women—die in childbirth. Deny affordable healthcare coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. Cut programs that feed hungry kids. Block access to HIV testing and treatment across the globe. Incite far-right violence with lies about abortion.
A women’s physical and emotional lives are important — more important, than an unborn fetus.
Why do “pro life” people care more about an unborn baby than a baby that’s already been born?

I'm pro life and right leaning on this issue but I want it to be made illegal over an open discussion and coming to an agreement/understanding. That likely will never happen, too many people making money. I think 1 fetus is worth about $35,000-$200,000 for STEM research depending on the time it's been incubating for. This is why I think even though most pro choicers loath the idea of late term abortion that politicians on the left still want them to be legal. As far as not caring about the baby. You are true there are a section of pro lifers that think the baby should be born and then I guess... die? When you try to take food stamps away from low income single mothers exactly what do you think you'll be doing to the child? So yes I support and will always support welfare safety nets like Foot Stamps and WIC for parents. I DO want the child to have the best it can have because all children deserve that shot at life. I'm not a hypocrite, I understand that there are financial obligations to society for low income people having kids. Regardless, I would happily pay my tax dollars to make sure those kids are who get the help. So even if we are on opposite sides of the issue I think people like you and myself can find mutual ground on the topic in some regards. There's no reason unless the mother will die or the baby is dead that a 4th trimester abortion should ever be legal. I think if we can work on fixing the extremes then maybe there's a chance to come to some way to coexist on the issue.
Nobody's doing abortions for the money. STEM is "Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics", what's used in research are stem cells, which are cells that have no defined function yet, and are found in the blastocyst stage of embryonic development, around days 5–14. Most abortions happen after that, (which is why the Texas law is so evil) and not even the most rabid pro-birther can reasonably say that a blob of 150 cells is a human being.

I wouldn't be surprised if people cried at a late term abortion, or a stillbirth, it's a shame. It's also a tiny fraction of abortions, and only for good reasons. Being forced to bring to term a fetus with major organs missing is worse.
@goaded if that's the case then why dont you push for information for women to be fully informed about their choices? Do you have any idea how many women get the abortion and regret it later? You dont care about them you just care about being "right".
It beats being wrong. I expect most women are relieved by an abortion, at least the majority who have one in the first couple of months. I can see some women being sad about their decision, but that doesn't mean it wasn't the right one. It's none of our business; it's their decision.

Because pretending to care about fetal life is much easier than actually caring for living people. All that is required is to yell at distressed women. Jesus commanded people to care for widows, children, prisoners, the sick, and the poor. But that's a lot of work, and you might not even like some of those people. A part of the solution has to be that guys are either taking preparations on their part to prevent a woman from getting pregnant or they are willing to support her at least financially so she can get well through pregnancy. 1. Killing in abortion is unauthorised. The newly created human featus does not make a decision here. The person who is pregnant is a 3rd party person.
2. Abortion is done out of malice. If you want to kill somebody that is usually a malicious thinking. Murder can be also done for various other reasons (ex. money, scientific purposes, "greater good", etc...).
3. If a killer enters hospital and cuts off a head of somebody in coma than you classify this as normal behaviour because he/she was not sentient?
4. Abortion is premeditated as medical procedures are scheduled.

This isn’t really the problem currently for black babies, the biggest problem for black babies is the medical system. Black mothers are consistently more likely to die due to complications surrounding pregnancy and childbirth.
This is due to medical racism that prevails in the healthcare system.

Pro life cares about life, not quality of life. I personally don't agree with abortions, but I'll support them because I recognize that an unwanted child is more likely to turn to crime than a well cared for child. And I personally don't think we need to raise the population so much as we need to increase the qol for the population.
As George Carlin said, If you're preform, you're fine. If you're preschool, you're fucked. You're fucked until you reach military age, where you're swell and just what they're looking for

Why does the far left believe execution of a murderer is a violation of the murderer's rights, but has no such concerns about late term abortion? One involves the state-sanctioned death of a person who chose to do terrible thing with their life and the other of someone who didn't have the chance to live.

A fertilized egg isn’t called a human life, it’s called a zygote. It’s literally a ball of cells, how do you equate that to humanity. Why do you believe a literally zygote matters more than the bodily autonomy of the woman’s body that’s holding the zygote which is essentially a ball of cells.
A zygote contains necessary genetic information to “become a baby”, meaning it literally isn’t a human yet.

life is not a continuum. The egg cell is alive, and it has the potential to become a zygote (a single-celled embryo) if it is appropriately fertilized and activated by a live sperm. If fertilization is successful and the genetic complement of the sperm is added to that of the egg, the resulting zygote is also alive. The zygote has the same size as the egg; other than for its new genotype, the cell (comprising the cytoplasm and the rest) is nearly identical to the egg cell. From a biological perspective, no new life has been created.
No ones changing the scenario, no ones “conflating” the two. I simply explained how it’s absolutely absurd to claim a zygote is a human being when no new life was created to begin with.
Meaning in the example scenario I created using pro life logic, if an appropriately fertilized zygote is terminated by a doctor than they would be murderers since they’re the ones that conducted the “murder” of a clump of cells that are alive.
