let's say a girl comes to school and is wearing a t-shirt. would it depend on the t-shirt, if it was more rigid and didn't make her nipple outlines very visible? is it wrong / distracting / sexual / gross if she wore a flowy and loose (but not see-through) t-shirt where you could see her nipples? should all girls have to wear bras in these circumstances *at school*? what's your opinion? please no sexual sarcastic remarks like not wanting them to wear bras for your own pleasure / enjoyment.; serious question. thank you!

I understand that some jobs require a degree such as lawyers and doctors etc.

but latley I’ve been seeing a mix between people who say it’s pointless and some say it’s not.

Im aware a lot of jobs require a BA for a minimum but is that all?

I’m currently attending University and I’m enjoying it a lot more than I enjoyed my school experience. High School was a terrible time for me , the children were mean , the classes were overcrowded, the uniform was uncomfortable... it just wasn’t very pleasant.
So what’s your opinion on this? Did you enjoy school/university? Or was it a terrible time?

Do you think they're actually helpful or are they just full of corny bs?

My eye doctor gave me the wrong prescription glasses (too low, things were blurry) and right prescription contact lenses. I wear glasses sometimes. I went in again to fix the glasses prescription. He said “at your age (I’m eighteen) your eye sight can change a lot. Let’s do an exam to check your eyesight.” I said “my contacts feel perfectly fine and I could see really clear, only my glasses are blurry.” He still wanted an exam. We had an exam a little while later. He said my eye sight changed a lot (then how come I could see clearly with my old contacts?) when it probably only changed a little, and gave me new prescription CONTACTS (when the only thing I wanted was glasses) that were basically the same amount of clear. He dilated my eyes, which messed up my vision for seeing things up close (because my pupils became HUGE) and then he told me to put on my new contacts to see how much of a change it was, right after dilation, so, sir, how do you expect me to put it on? It took me a long while to put on the contacts, considering I couldn’t see ANYTHING UP CLOSE. He then approached me after I came out of the bathroom and put on my contacts and said “it was a big difference huh?” And I said “no, actually with my old contacts I could see really clear” and he said “oh, honey, no you couldn’t. You couldn’t see very much. With those new ones it’s a lot clearer.” With my old contacts, I could see FINE! And the only thing I wanted to fix was my wrong prescription glasses, which I EXPLAINED TO HIM MANY TIMES. The doctor also kept going on about how much my vision “changed” and how I couldn’t see anything before. Notice: if I ordered more new contacts that were new prescription, my money would go to his bank account. Was he trying to scam me? Also, should I report him?

I'm bilingual so I actually have two mother tongues. I'm a bit if a grammar nazi, but I almost never correct people who is clearly not speaking their own native language. at least not in small things like grammar nazis do.

English isn't my native language and I do not speak it well. I see people correcting me here on GaG too. Kind of good to learn but on the other hand it is really annoying since I am doing my best. Of course some basic stuff I'll also want to correct (like your and you're, because that's just annoying).

Are you a grammar nazi? How bad of a kind?

I like to learn more about things that I find interesting, but I wouldn't exactly say that I have a thirst for knowledge. 🤔

I'm on jobseekers benefit at the moment and my caseworker put me forward to a company that helps people find work... I signed up to them because I thought I could do it but I was reading through their website and it said that it's for immigrants and migrants... I was born here so I don't qualify as either, now I feel a little uncomfortable that I signed up to them.

Should I email the guy that interviewed me and explain that I'm not comfortable with it and to give my spot to someone who actually qualifies? He knows I was born here so I don't know why he didn't say anything straight away...

If I emailed him I'd say something like:
"I know I signed the form saying I want to go through CNSST to help me get a job, but I feel a little uncomfortable going through your company since I was born in and grew up in this country and I feel like your company is aimed more at families and individuals who are immigrants or migrants. At our meeting you also said that the next intake isn't until July and I'd like a job before then so I think it'd be better if I went through a different company the has a sooner intake."

So, there's two jobs in considering. The daycare job, or my old environmental job in California.

So with the daycare job I'll be making ten dollars an hour, it's close to my house and it'll help me jumpstart my career in teaching education. I can be drove there, or I can take the bus but unfortunately I probably will most likely have to skip days of work because either my parents won't take me or the bus might run late so I'll most likely be late for work. Because my transportation isn't stable. I'm not allowed to drive, be out pass 7 pm, or wear my natural hair. So if I do get a job I'll still have to live by those rules... But I'll have 1 thousand dollars by the end of each month and I won't have to pay any bills. I won't be able to work overtime though because it would get in the way of my curfew. ( 7:30 PM) I'm in a tough spot but this is how things will be if I decide to accept the job in my town. So, having a job in my town is going to be extremely hard. Going to school in my town would be extremely hard because my curfew is 7:30 and I don't have transportation to go anywhere. Basically I have to start going home at around 6:30 to 7:30 pm if I want to actually reach my curfew and plus I can't work afternoon shifts due to my curfew. :/

With my job in California I'll have housing, food, work with the environment, be outside with nature and have a roommate and I'll move out. I'll be able to start learning how to drive, I'll have much more personal freedom, be around people my age, learn how to cook, and in short I'll be much more free and I could work overtime if I wanted because I won't have a 7 PM curfew anymore. Plus I'll be able to wear my natural hair and I'll have reliable transportation. I'll also be given about 250 every two weeks to pay for things that I need.
