Today, we were learning in class about "reading levels" of the general public. Apparently the average American adult reads at a 7th grade reading level.

There's a dude I've liked for a while now. Things are moving slowly. Based on whats happened I'd say we both like each other. We hang out quite a bit. Pretty sire solo movie outings are a sign of liking someone.. We've met each other's parents..

But we haven't spoken about liking each other specifically.
Very few godbye hugs, high fives, and one instance of holding hands is where we're at.

Other fish are circling and I want to know where we stand.
I've known the guy for basically a year.. Since February... I've seen him about once a week or so with others.

So a group of us got suspended from work Thursday pending investigation for really childish pranks and he said she said bullying around the building. We are housekeepers at a retirement center but a lot of the time we have nothing to do since daylight gets a lot of the housekeeping done prior to our arrival. I’ve had it with this place and have been looking for a new job for about a month. I’m always getting wrongly accused of something without any actual proof and supervisors are bitchy with me. I’ve only been at this place for 3 months. They have a high turnover rate in every department, maybe because everyone acts like high schoolers. Anyways, this is a dime a dozen job. I am currently not employed elsewhere but if I am not getting the boot then I will be into an even more hostile work environment and management will be looking for any minor mistake. Supervisor said we should call HR on Monday and go from there. Part of me just wants to say fuck it all together and not call and not answer any calls and completely pretend I never worked there and apply for another job. A lot of places around me are hiring at the moment. They can fire you with no evidence since the job is at will and they already don’t like me so I have a feeling I’ll be getting fired and even if I don’t I don’t want to go back

Often, when I watch American student vlogs I see people complaining about their dress codes, their school has.

Now I'm in college and in the USA that would be equivalent to the last two years of high school. We don't have a strict dress code- meaning, girls aren't restricted from wearing things like crop tops, and off shoulder tops, etc.

I don't wear those kinds of clothes myself, I usually just come in jeans/leggings and a jumper or something.

A lot of these American vloggers say their dress codes are so strict so the girls and boys don't distract each other, and so the boys don't perv on the girls. Now I've been going to my college for over a month, and the boys don't care what the girls wear and vice versa, we all just come to class and get on with it, nobody pervs on anyone.

At my secondary school's sixth form, they have such a strict dress code, like you can't even wear hoodies or jeans to prepare you for the "working world" but the way I see it, if my workplace has a dress code, and I'm comfortable with it- I'll follow it, because I'm getting paid.

I'm leaning over to the 'we don't need dress codes' argument, but if you think you have a good argument to persuade me we do need dress codes- I'd love to hear it. :)

So something happened at work and a group of 6 of us got sent home because they are trying to figure out who did what. Supervisor said she’s sending me home upon HR ladies request for impending investigation. She didn’t go into too much detail but a vague synopsis of why she believes i may be behind it. Im scheduled to work tomorrow should I go in or stay at home and see if they call me? After tomorrow the next day I’m scheduled is Thursday. I’ve had several problems with this place already but this is the first time HR is getting involved.
