I have been curious for some time as to what category my personality falls under. Let me describe myself: I am someone who places a lot of value on self development and striving to be the person you always wanted to be. In my instance I want to be someone who is inspirational to others. I enjoy doing martial arts (I study classical Ninjitsu, the Ninja art). This is my way of centering myself as well as learning how to defend myself (and protect my loved ones) as well. I play the trumpet and am also studying music. I love music and find it so enriching. I am quite expressive and am very good with words. I enjoy writing, I write poetry, short stories and social commentary. I believe in being true to yourself, always standing up for what you believe in even if it's not a popular belief. Stick to your guns and I believe people will at least respect you even if they disagree with you. I do not care what other people think about me, except for my closest friends and family. But if I don't know you that well or am not close to you I do not care what your opinion of me is. I'll just give you a thumbs up and say "Keep hatin'". I also enjoy being a counselor type person, as in I love to give advice and to be there for someone else. This also goes back to the beginning when I said I strive to be a positive and inspirational type person to others. I want to inspire people to goodness, to believe in themselves, because if I do then I feel like I made a difference in their life. I consider myself to be an idealist. I am a man with a deep soul, and I am a little bit of a warrior and intellectual. I strongly believe in a set of principled values and these values guide me through my life. Honor is my most important virtue. But I have struggled to figure out how to categorize myself, am I a nice guy? A bad boy? Or something else entirely?

Dated this girl for over a year, her parents meddled completely. Didn't like me despite all the nice stuff I did even for them.

I broke it off 4 months ago and she came back saying she's changed due to counseling and hasn't stopped loving me.

She wants a guy her parents accept, yet she struggles with the reality that she'll never find a guy to make her and her parents happy.

The counselor has taught her to create space between her and her family, and tell them when they're "trespassing", but not boundaries. But I think she doesn't want boundaries from her parents, so is it fair to her for me to date her?
