I know, a cliche question. but please read.
I don't like him. But he keeps looking at me. When i say something in class he is the first to pay attention. I once was doing a group work with three girls. we were having a break and i stayed in class with my group. I live in France and i am still learning french, so i asked the gil next to me what does a word in the lesson we were working on means. the rest of my class was just entering the class and the break was over, and there was a lot of noise around us, but he still managed to hear my question and he simply came and told me what it meant. i was too stunned.
he has a girlfriend. he had a girlfriend before her and not so long after they broke up, he asked his current girlfriend out.

The first day of school he kept glancing with curiosity at me. i was looking pretty and dressing nicely for the first (and the last) time at school.

Now a little backgroud check on me. I am highly insecure and shy and i have anxiety and many problems. i am always sloppy and i never care about how i look or what i wear. i am friends with people who dress casually or a bit sloppy. not as sloppy as me but still.

I am funny and nice to people. I am not this shy person who builds walls now. i changed but i am still very insecure. and i can't make friends with... popular people.

I have to mention that i am a syrian refugee and he knows this. maybe he is trying to be nice to me, and i am misinterpreting things. but it is very confusing for me. I am not used to have anybody pay thatmuch attention to me before. I am normally almost always forgotten and underappriciated.

Am i misinterepting things? Am I imagining that he likes me just because I really wish to be liked? Is it because i am lonely?
Still, though, i can't help but notic that his face lights up a bit when he sees me.

My friend is the most loving, giving, charitable person I know but her in laws are quite literally the devil. They grew up fighting and hating each other and anyone coming into that circle, they drag into their bitterness, anger, and hate. The day before her wedding day, her sisters in law got into a huge fight with her ruining the rehearsal dinner and on her wedding day, her mother in law said she wasn't coming and then anotehr fight broke out as the sisters in law then blamed my friend for some unknown reason for their mom not wanting to come (the mom had done the same for her other sons wedding). At the wedding, her now brother in law literally gave a toast about how he was such a terrible brother to the groom and didn't even know why he wanted him to make a toast. The family has caused so much trouble in the marriage between them fighting with her husband, them hating her, and them fighting with her. The only time the two were free from the drama is when the fighting got so intense, her husband banned the family from talking to her, or coming over to their house for 3 months until they finally began to treat her nicely in order to see their son/brother, but then a few weeks later, they were back at it. Even as a friend, I refuse to go to their family functions because of their drama and fights. She, as well as I, both come from extremly loving, caring, and supportive families so for me, I honestly think I could not deal with that level of drama for the rest of my life and would have to eventually end it with him.
