so, this is weird. My best guy friend is best friends with one of my exes, so our friendship started when I was dating that guy, and has continued until now (me and said ex have been broken up over a year and a half). My friend and I have bonded super well, he went through a painful breakup over the summer and we both relate to each other’s pain. Over the last few months, I’ve been speculating whether or not he’s had feelings for me and vice versa but I’m unsure. A few months ago, I made a joke about wanting a boyfriend who played the guitar, and he’d replied “oh, so not me then,” and we went on with our day.
Then recently he’d stayed at my place, and before going to bed he gave me a hug and wished me “sweet dreams”. I thought this was odd because usually guys only say that to girls when they like them (in my experience)
and he drove across the state for less than one day just to show up to my birthday dinner 2 weekends ago.
ever since then, he’s been a little distant. When I ask him what’s bothering him he says mostly school, and leaves if ar that. Hardly replies to my texts. I’m confused. Is he pulling away because he likes me?

he's very naturally a sweet person to everyone I just noticed these couple things were over the top

I’m sensing a guy I’ve been on a couple dates and we’ve texted everyday until last time we went out.
The dates were great, we kissed and held hands, had dinner but since I am not really one to be forward on making a move... he tried to get a little touchy & I think I made him feel awkward and nervous. I wasn’t ready for that and maybe should of told him I like him but no need to rush. He stopped himself but after was nervous.

After I received texts s couple times and very positive, he even told me he missed me but 3weeks passed and communication went dead, if I reach out he’s positive but stops replying. He compliments me on social media and sends kissy kisses. His past has been one girlfriend he was with 4years.

I’m confused.
