who is a better mascot? which one you like most and why?

i like super mario better since I grew up with him since day one, and I have always been more of a nintendo guy. he was also the first video game character that I ever controlled in my life (at the age of 4). plus he is really cool, funny, adventurous and entertaining.

now, the only thing I don't like about super mario is the story line he's in. out of 100 of his game 97 of them are about him rescuing princess peach. I think this can get boring after a while. and controversially speaking, this kinda messes up kids psychology as it give kids that infamous illusion that in real life we men in order to get women we must be forced to become prince charming and put women on pedestals in order to get them. thus resulting more kids becoming white knights.

now, when it comes to Sonic, he is probably my second favorite. though I practically never owned a sega genesis growing up I still grew up with him. I love him cause he is extremely cool; may God bless that artist that created and designed him. I love how he looks friendly yet aggressive at the same time. and unlike super mario, the plots of his games are a lot better as all of them are about him trying to save the world instead, from that evil maniac dr Robotnic. I think this is a better concept of a story for children to grow up on as it give children the illusion that in life there are a lot of important things besides putting women on pedestals, and obviously the world is the most important one of all thus inspiring kids to grow up and become successful in life and protecting what is right over being a white knights.

now these are all my opinions, and I sure can keep on going with this, but I will keep it short for now. so which one you like better and why?

How common is going overboard with feelings for that first girl? As in thinking she's perfect, basically putting her on a pedestal, and giving her too many compliments?

Just wondering because I did this with the one and only dating experience I've had, and I often look back mortified and embarrassed at how pathetic I must have looked! Even when she told me herself "you don't have to compliment me every chance you get" ...
