Search Results: which friend is telling the truth

So, I started hanging out with this guy back in August, and it was strictly for hooking up. However, when we began hanging out he would call me "baby" and try to cuddle with me and ask me if I liked spending time with him. Naturally, this threw me and I was like what's your angle. So, I told him I liked him to see what his response would be and that was "I'm not looking for anything serious at the moment" which was fine by me. We kept texting (which he is always the one to reach out) and maybe met up once or twice more in the past few months. Fast forward to this Tuesday (12/13/16) and he asks me if I want to hang out with him. I haven't actually seen him for about two months because I have been thinking that I want something more serious instead of just a hookup. So, I text him and told him as much, something like since you told me your looking for short term, and I want long term, I don't think this is a good idea for me. What took me off guard was his answer : "I mean, I could be into a long term thing". I asked him if he said it just so that I would meet him that day (which I did not do) and he said "no, I like you and I'd like to try it long term". So it's Wednesday and I invited him to come out with me and some of my friends today and he said he was interested yesterday. However, when I asked him about it this morning, he said "maybe" then he told me later on in the day that he had a basketball game so he wouldn't be able to make it. I'm just wondering what's up because it's like. I'm pretty sure you knew you had a game Tuesday when you said you were interested in coming. So, my question here is, what do I do with this? Do I just leave him alone?

P. S. He did get a little pissy that I wouldn't meet with him yesterday (12/13/16).
