When I was around nine years old I had two evil fake friends. We were “friends” for a year. Then they stopped talking to me. While we were talking, they made me do weird dares sometimes. One was go up to a girl during recess and ask her “do you know (the girls brothers name?)” her brother was this guy they had a random fascination with. The girl looked at me weird and was like “why”? I just left. They would force me to say things I didn’t want to say. Like I would go to the bathroom for a few minutes then come back (during recess) to fix my hair. They made me say why. I said “to fix my hair” they didn’t believe me. So I just made something up and said “I don’t have friends” then they let it go. They were overall just passive aggressive to me, but no direct insults, no name calling. I was a pretty thick skinned girl, so this didn’t make me feel too bad, but made me feel slightly bad, because it was two people being jerks to me, so of course it would. Bullying or just immature ex friends?

Not asking for advice on what to do - im asking WHY she is like this. My family friend is fifteen, she’s been my family’s family friend since I was 4. I know her siblings and parents. She talks to her friends on the phone and on FaceTime often, she posts group pictures with her friends and she’s laughing and smiling happily. She has sleepovers often. She likes hanging out with her friends, because once when there was a party she was mad the whole time because she had to go there instead of hanging out with her friends. When she is doing something with our family or other family friends, she is complaining to her mom, saying “can we go now! I’m so bored! Ugh” and scoffing. She doesn’t want to stay somewhere for more than 10 minutes. Every single time we go somewhere with them she’s begging her mom to leave. I don’t think she dislikes me, she smiles at me and no one made inappropriate sexual advances towards her because she is always in a room full of people. Social anxiety, or immaturity?
