This guy (27 years old) I have been dating for seven months has suddenly changed towards me and I feel my self-esteem and confidence has degraded over these months mainly because I feel like I'm being played by him or he is playing with my mind. Thank you.

1) He talks about how hot other women are in front of me. When we are out on a date, he talks and complains about other people in the same setting and these are people he doesn't know-basically being critical of them. I don't really like it because I just think he should mind his own business.

2) Instead of talking and resolving little issues, he gives the silent treatment for 2-3days. I feel it's becoming emotionally abusive as It's torture and no matter how much I try to talk to him and get him to tell me what is wrong, he won't do it. Thus, I constantly have to apologise for whatever it is that makes him give me the cold shoulder all the time.

3) The day before I left for America to see my family, he was distant. I rang him up and he said "F*** this, I don't want to have this conversation with you now when you can just fly off tomorrow!!! I don't wanna talk now in this heat. Far out." (He didn't apologise for swearing at me)

4) He found out my dad didn't like him because my dad thinks he is a player. My boyfriend then told me a story about how his grandfather went against family to marry his grandma. I thought maybe I should do that and try harder cos that is probably what he wants me to do. TURNS OUT: I talked to dad. Dad warned me but said he just wanted me to be happy. I told my boyfriend, but now he says "What if the interest isn't there any more?" "i lost interest cos of your dad"

5) I have a gut feeling he is cheating emotionally and wants someone else. He told me "it's all in your head. You are speaking nonsense. Enough of these allegations. Where do you get your information? Where is the proof?" BUT, my best friend told me

I broke up with my ex of 4 and 1/2 years 3 weeks ago over a huge argument, we've had trouble in the past but i honestly thought we were doing better together as a couple. He hasn't been in touch with me since, but he's been asking about me to mutual friends. I was completely in love with him but i was extremely passionate and fiery. He was distant after every argument and very secretive regarding other women, i found out he went on dating websites and he chased after female friends emotionally. He loved attention, and was immature. I was also the first girl he'd kissed and been with, i'd dated other guys but he's my first long term relationship and love.

Now we've spent a month apart i've had time to grow as a person, i'm happier and less stressed. I've learnt a new language, got in the best shape i've ever been in, learnt how to swim. But i miss what we could have had together, i miss the stupid little things. The sweet gestures he made etc. I honestly believed that he was the guy that i was going to spend my life with.

However there's a new guy who i've been talking to and we seem to get along quite well. He's funny and sweet. Nothing serious, but he asked me out for a drink and i'm unsure of what to do.

Should i give this new guy a chance? Or should i try and contact my ex?

I've dated 8 guys and had 3 serious relationships. I've only dumped one guy out of 2. Since i felt devastated, heartbroken and depressed after a heartbreak, i never knew if guys felt the same. My 2 exes laughed and were cruel to me when they were dumping me. But my last ex i broke up with him because i couldn't take his distant and crazy emotions, i think he might have Bi-polar. He always told me that he loved being with me and I was his girl. But he was never there emotionally. After not hearing from for a week i decided to check on him and he blew up at me "calling me a nagging bitch, he didn't want anything from me, to leave him alone and he would have never got involved with me" i had enough after 10 months and broke up with him saying "fuck you, you little bitch! I'm so done with your bullshit! you cunt!" FYI i never talked to him that way. He sent me one last message saying "I'm sorry and I hope you find someone who appreciate you like you did with me. I'm not mad just upset because I didn't show you that I cared about you. Okay bye" 2 weeks later he wanted to get back with me and he told me that he got drunk 3 days straight after i ended it and he couldn't delete my pictures because he felt happy just looking at me and remembered the good times. For a month i was willing to try again but he was being distant again so on my birthday he admitted he didn't want to get back together and "just said that to be nice". I told him "Thank you for saying happy birthday, thank you for being a asshole and tricking me for 10 months. Fuck off and don't message me and leave me alone." I figured my ex wasn't sincerely heartbroken like i was and he toyed with me.
So if you had a girlfriend and was genuinely in love with her and your relationship ended, how do you feel? I'm starting to think maybe guys don't grieve the same way girls do. But i don't want to think that.
