I work at Lowe's. One day at work another employee and I had to make some emergency deliveries because some of our drivers quit (we're not delivery drivers). The guy I was working with is an old man and wears a camo lowe's vest meaning he's a military veteran.
Since we were going to be driving for a couple of hours I started a conversation and asked about his service. He was in the Navy from 1977 to 1981 working in communications. I thought that was cool since communications are one of if not THE most important job in the military.
When I got home and told some people about my new friend at work, they said he's a pussy since he served right after Vietnam and right before Desert Storm and he didn't see combat or serve in a time of war.
That pissed me off. NONE of these people even served yet they're going to call him a pussy. I've never served either (considering it in the future), but I recognize that I enjoy privileges at the expense of other people's sacrifice. I don't know how civilians can disparage a service member because of the role they played in the military, yet don't have the stones to enlist themselves.
I'm thankful for ALL military members past and present, even the ones who play minimal roles. Whether it be reservist, guardsman, Coast Guard, suppliers, cooks, etc. When people want to talk down to their service I always tell them "if it's so easy, then you go do it" but these people can't even make it to the gym regularly.

This guy is 19 years old. At 16, he began college and got an AA. When he was in high school, he had a 3.8 GPA and was in National Honors Society. He joined the military and he's currently planning on commissioning as an officer by doing ROTC. His interests are listening to metal like jinjer, pantera, metallica, kreator, slaughter to prevail, and etc. Playing video games like Skyrim, GTA 5 and etc. Watching movies and likes all genres (especially horror movies). He's into working out too and likes to lift weights.
