Marriage in America is nothing but a liability exclusively for men. You have a no-fault divorce where any woman can easily initiate a divorce for any reason that way so she can take any large chunk of personal possessions and money that her soon-to-be ex husband worked hard for.

I'd never get married (but I'll still be in serious relationship with a woman who can respect my life decisions and hobbies) for this being one of the very main reasons. Life's too short for such unwanted and unnecessary drama.

I am very conflicted at the moment about what I should do. I have always been serious in dating for marriage. But until now there has been no one suitable after searching for years.

A bit of background :
Every interested single I have met either has been run through by Chad and Tyrone, is a single mother with a few kids or is obese or all of the above.

At 6 feet tall with a body forged from lifting weights. With both university and professional degrees. A permanent job as part of senior management for a conglomerate. And the best being debt free.

All this takes time and I only dipped my toes into the dating pool at 28 after reaching management level.

Now the dilemma:
I think everyone has an idea what kind of girl I am looking for with my kind of profile and the perks I bring to the table. The problem is there aren't any.

My parents (left leaning which is shocking) are telling me to look at 30 year old women as candidates for being my wife and not care about virginity, her past or it will get worse for me later.

My friends are advising me to only play with them for sex only. I have never had a relationship like this before and have so far resisted but as the years go by I am getting more and more tempted to just date for sex. I am not getting any younger.

I can say without question that I do not want to marry women who reached 30 or those who cannot even take care of their health or morals.

Should I just lower my standards to date women, enjoy the sex and if someone better comes just replace the current woman I am dating?

I remember getting in my first big age gap relationship at 28. I was dating a 20 year old. It was a weird combination of excitement, fear of judgment, concern about maturity and yet youthful fun and vigor. I was also the oldest guy she ever dated too. That one didn’t work out. She was very immature and a freeloader. I also sometimes acted purposely immature out of fear of looking too boring/old. There is a playful way to do that but you need to switch it off fast in when you are expected to be an adult. Not always easy to switch.

I’ve been in 3 other age gap relationships. Biggest gap was 34 and 21. That was doomed to fail from the start but we had a ton of fun while it lasted. She ghosted me after 9 months and I was surprised it lasted that long. The ghosting still hurt and was complete bullshit. But I knew that risk came with the territory.

I’m not opposed to dating women my age. As long their relatively attractive and have a positive attitude I’ll give it a shot. But here are the challenges:

- They are far fewer single women my age.
- They are usually divorced and/or have kids. Not a dealbreaker but it definitely complicates things.
- I also noticed single women my age forget how to be fun. I briefly dated a woman a year older than me and I was shocked/pissed off that she thinks it still okay to shit test men on sexual stuff. She lead me on and changed her mind at the last second. A grown ass woman should know better than that.
- If I want to get serious with one than having kids could be a bigger challenge.
- Some older single women are just mentally unstable. I know that same standard could be applied to me. But as a man nobody is taking a knee to propose to me in marriage. Being single at my age has much different ramifications (and bad stereotypes) as a man vs. a woman.
