So I’ve been texting/video calling this guy for 6 months during lockdown. We’ve managed to see each other a few times after. We’ve kissed and made out one time.

Although we never really defined what we are, I think we’re kinda friends with benefits even though when we interact he doesn’t really treat me like a friends with benefits, he’s super caring and respectful and actually tells me stuff about his life. Plus doesn’t press me into sex at all.

He says he really loves my company and is impassioned by me; he also said once he couldn’t help but fall for me. But he’s very inconsistent and sometimes we can go from texting everyday to a week without texting and he leads a super busy life and all.

So here’s the deal,
It was my birthday at some point during lockdown and I told him a couple of days before and he said he would love to give me a hug and wished me a good day. But when the real day came he saw my stories about my birthday and said nothing!! 4 days later he texted me acknowledging my birthday by asking if I had a good day and saying he hadn’t been well cause someone he used to know died…but still…

His birthday is coming soon but we haven’t texted in a week. We’re suppose to hang out but he’s very busy. So I’m wondering whether I should text him happy birthday or reply to one of his stories and say “Is it your birthday? Hope you had a nice day x” OR whether I shouldn’t text anything at all? Oh and actually he never mentioned his birthday to me at any given point so I’m not so sure I should and I feel if I do I’m chasing after him a little.

Thing with this guy is I don’t want to get used to me always being there for him cause I won’t be! Sometimes I have a feeling he takes me for granted also I’ve added him to my close friends list on insta but for privacy motives.

And maybe if I don’t wish him happy birthday it might serve as a wake up call for him

The other day was my birthday. I'm not a party girl and I grew up not getting gifts from my modest family so honestly just a happy birthday and a cake is more than I can ask for it means a lot already.
Now these last few months had the 5 of my friends birthday just coming one after the other and we had so much fun at each of them we always did the most with a homemade little buffet next to the cake and decorated the party room colorfully with balloons, confettis and had games and danced and took a lot of photos treating the birthday girl like a queen.

Now when my birthday came, only 3 of my friends showed up and my bestie started the day by texting me she'll only stay 3 hours. The table had a cake, crisps ans candy while the room was not decorated at all. They usually make a fuss about how no gift should be opened without them filming but this time they asked me to quickly open everything while they weren't even looking my way just discussing among themselves.
They usually take tons of photos from all angles of the birthday girl with the background decoration and the filled table but they didn't ask for any this time even though I made the effort to wear makeup for the first time in a year.
They also hype the birthday girl and fight to take pics with her acting extra docile to make her feel like a star on that day but this time they would literally tell me to move away when they take their pics and when I point out "hey it's my birthday haha" they answered "that doesn't make you a star lol move". Also no one danced even when I put their favorite songs hoping to get some reaction...

I wasn't expecting anything crazy, I know I'm the mom of the group and the one to direct and do the decoration + homemade snacks every time but I was hoping to at least see them have fun and get some of that energy back that day but I ended up really feeling not cared for. I'm a boring quiet girl so I knew it won't be as fun I understand but their behaviour still hurt me...

I have been with my partner for two years now. He has always remembered my birthday. Our anniversaries as well. I have even gotten gifts and cards in the past from him. I also know that he loves me dearly and unconditionally. Today was my birthday and he didn't remember at first. He did though days ago Mention it but I shot him down like because his ex's was also in this month. We then dropped it. He then through a text about 25 min later as we were texting (Only text in the early morns as we get very busy) sent me a Friendly like pix of him (They have this with gifs) and I felt hurt and insulted. It was merely "Happy Birthday."
He has this ex that is with someone for a long time and he still is in contact with her. He remembered hers and made up a stupid excuse that he has known her for years and this is why he did recall? I am not sure what I am going to do now with this relationship. I need some help. Thanks in advance.
