I am almost 28 and have never been in a relationship. I'm starting to feel weird. I don't really get invited for stuff because either the events my friends host are "for family" (i. e. with a partner) or because they don't feel discussing certain topics in front of me. To be honest, even I don't feel discussing those topics with them because my lack of knowledge becomes obvious or because the problems they are having are not relatable.
My colleagues, all of whom are married to people that used to date, are confused about this and keep on suggesting I get an arranged marriage. Does that mean they don't think it is possible for someone like me to get a date? If someone who had an arranged marriage suggested it that would make sense, but all of them have had love marriages. Why are they all suddenly open to the idea for me specifically. Hearing that advise from them is both confusing and depressing. It hurts my self confidence.
After hearing it so many times I'm considering the idea but I feel like I'm going against my beliefs by doing so.

So this comes from the question @kamalravi25 had earlier. I think arranged marriages are mostly common in eastern cultures, but I also think it's unnatural or the way medieval people think.

Don't get me wrong, I'm Indian (from the city of Mumbai) and I always thought people should fall in love and get married - that's the natural way like you meet a person, are attracted to them and then decide you want to stay together. Is there anyone here that thinks arranged marriages should exist?

With women choosing their partners instead of arranged marriages is this the cause of weaker family structure and society decline?
