I am an introvert. I am not extremely shy, but I am not very social either. I dislike small talk a lot and find it often ridiculous, I don't like parties and discos, I don't like "going out" unless I can find some meaningful way of entertainment when I do. I dislike mean gossip and people avoid to do that around me. The topics that interest me are often -me being a "smartass"- or a -me being a nerd-. Most of all I enjoy spending time with couple of my best friends who I can relax with and actually have fun with. I like martial arts and basketball, COD, literature, chemistry, physics and mathematics, Arcade games, rollerblading, drawing, cooking, a shonen anime I've been watching since I was 7 etc.

I don't consider, sitting at the bar unable to hear my friends, or have bunch of guys who are a little drunk hit on me, entertaining, but it seems that in the place I live, I am the only one.

I can often even be lazy when it comes to my social life because there are only a handful of people I am actually close to, so I just don't feel like socializing when it comes to the semi-anonymous crowd.

But sometimes my way of life can feel lonely because my close friends are extroverts and have many other friends I don't really like to hang out with, but I have a wish to expand my group of friends and to fall in love.. There are people who invited me to go out several times to some social gatherings. I found those people to be nice and many shared some of my interests, but those social circles also had some members that annoyed me quite a bit.

I tried and managed to get out of half of the invitations hoping they will invite me again when I feel more up to it, or when I at least don't consider it ridiculously boring.

Naturally (which I didn't foresee), they didn't invite me as often, some never again, because they presumed I hate them, while the truth is that I don't even know them enough to form some sort of opinion and I was either not so much into the activity they proposed, was being lazy about it or actually did have something better I wanted/had to do.

So I'm asking you:

Will a person like me ever be able to have more friends?

How do I find them and bring them into my world?

How do I bring myself to enter theirs?

How do I let them know I don't hate THEM, but just don't feel like doing something they are doing?

Will I ever be able to date a guy who is like me in this regard? (Do they exist and how do I meet them)

Or an extrovert who can stand my way of life?

(Note: All guys I had feelings for in the past were shy, not so much introverted. I am shy too when it comes to love, so neither one had the courage to say something. Later I would often find out they did like me. I am not proud, I am just VERY cowardly when it comes to asking a guy out.)

Would/Could YOU ever like a girl like me, or adapt to her if you are different?

to be truthful, I think being able to ask questions anonymously is OK. but everyone asking questions like that and expecting people to answer? come on! we don't know how to help. we don't know anything about the situation and (this is just my opinion) its hard to answer when I don't know you. I found I get many answers when people know its me and they can see me and read my info. they can help better if they know more about you. know who is at fault in a break-up and how to help you when they know more about you. its OK every now and then to ask questions anonymously but continuously is bad. when I got on this site last time, there was barely any anonymous questions. now, that's all there is. and there are more unanswered questions too. just, don't ask so many. its good your seeking help for things but jeez, don't over use the anonymous!
