As someone who is from a Middle Eastern background, I got just about everything growing up. I got the slipper, the hand, the wooden spoon, the hanger, etc. Assyrians don’t fuck around.
Anyway, I in no way hate my parents for doing it. It taught me respect for myself and others. Plus I feel like you have to have a little fear of your parents, their job is to be your parent not your friend. For me at least, spanking works. But a lot of people out there and scientists are saying it doesn’t.
I understand that it’s kind of a spectrum, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. When I parent I’m gonna do a three strike rule: first Is a warning, second is a time out, third is a spank.
