Hi, recently I started polytechnic (about a month ago). To get to know my coursemates better, I joined the freshman bonding camp for my course. In this camp, I met a guy who's my senior who took part in the planning of the camp (Let's just call this guy 'A'). I can't remember exactly when, but his friends started shipping me and 'A' during the camp. 'A' is, to some extent, a friend. If I had a question, I would be fine with approaching him for help. And most of the time, it's easy for me to communicate with him. But everytime his friends are around, they tease him and me and he starts to laugh and smile (pretty sure if his skin colour was lighter, he would be blushing). I joined a dance group for a competition, representing my school against others (e. g. School of Engineering against Film Media and Studies but both SoE and FMS are under the same polytechnic). He came to support, but I'm not sure if he came to support me, or to just cheer on his school (We're both under SoE). Thing is, very few people get to come along to support. (only 3-4 people from our course could come to support) Also, he begged me to join the CCA he's the president of because he needed a girl's team. He also starts conversations randomly before suddenly pretending I don't exist and playing with his friends. For example, earlier today, he wished me luck as I'm emceeing for an event later with one of his classmates, saying that the same classmate told him that I would be emceeing. Last of all, my friend who claims to be very good at analyzing body language, says that everytime 'A' sees me, he tenses up; which apparently is a sign that he likes me? I don't know how to read all of this, and I'm afraid of overthinking and then reading into something that doesn't exist. I do like 'A' to some extent. He's funny, cute (a bit adorable too) and is very smart. I'm pretty sure that if I let my guard down, I would have a huge crush on him.

Hi Guys/Gals,

I live abroad and recently a new guy moved into the house next door. He's new to the country but very energetic and positive. He always offers to bring me shopping on his way home, and, sometimes buys things he knows I 'll like in case I haven't got anything for dinner. We also hang out of an evening, and, he's brought friends around to introduce them to me. His body language is all in my direction, for example he is always facing me, even if I move, he'll adjust his position. Plus he's always leaning in my direction on the couch and sitting right up close next to me to show me videos on his phone. When I asked him if he'd tried a particular activity and recommended he go do it, he said "that sounds great; you and me'll go and do it". He teases me as well, in a nice way and is quite flirty but hasn't made any obvious opening move though there's a lot of eye contact and he blushes a lot when I tease him. He's also offered to cook me dinner. I do feel like there's some chemisty but I don't know if it's all on my end or not as I haven't dated in a long while.

The thing is, he mentioned he has a girlfriend back home. But, I'm wondering if since we met he's in the early stages of reconsidering their relationship and perhaps asking me out. Here's where I'm confused though. He mentioned in passing that he had real feelings for her but wasn't sure what to do because he doesn't want to go back home and she doesn't want to leave the country to live with him, and, he said he would have to discuss it with her next time he went home. I wasn't sure why he brought it up... he didn't seem too upset... He was also talking about how moving abroad changes your perspective.

Was he sounding me out to see how I reacted to the possibility of his being available? Or, was he asking my advice, thereby putting me in the 'Friendzone'. What's my move?
