Search Results: becoming girlfriend and boyfriend

So I've been rejected a couple times before and never had a boyfriend or been kissed so I'm naturally skittish about those subjects. The guy I really really really like is quite older than me (8 years. I'm 18 he's 26) and we work together but our company allows dating so no need to worry about that aspect. I have a temp job at this company that is becoming permanent so I'm conflicted if I should tell him I like him or not and if he would even consider returning my feelings. I do know for a fact that he is single (He referenced to the term EX-girlfriend a lot) I'm just really trying to get over my fear of rejection.. Because I really like this guy a lot.

This is about the things we do everyday. We see each other at least 1 or 2 times a day and when we do we can't ever stop talking. Literally an hour goes by talking and it feels like 5 minutes. We hold eye contact but we both look away at the same time and back again and it's a very weird yet amazing feeling looking in his eyes. He laughs at my terrible jokes and he smiles a lot when I'm around but he does that with a lot of people. We go out to lunch together at least twice a week. I really can't describe how else he makes me feel but amazing and happy to be myself.

So in the end should I confess?

I was dating this guy for about 4 months. I’m 20, he’s 19. Things were generally going very well. We became exclusive early on. He broke up with me about three weeks after officially becoming boyfriend-girlfriend. That was about a month and half ago. He said that he wanted to be friends, but that a relationship wasn’t desirable for him right now. That sounded fine at the time, but I realized that I still liked him as more than a friend. He also said that he was still attracted to me.

Anyway, we live near each other and have seen each other quite a bit since the breakup. We’ve spent the night.. and have been intimate. I feel like that muddied the waters a bit. Though we’ve broken up, he still acts like a boyfriend. He isn’t actively seeking dates and says that he still likes me. It’s like he partakes in the responsibilities of being a boyfriend, but does not like the title at all.

We had a conversation today. At this point, we had decided to be just friends (ie no sex), but to be open-minded to what the future may hold. I’m just wondering if people ever go from relationship to friends back to relationship. The pessimist in me says that if it didn’t work then, it probably never will… but life changes things, maybe it could work.
