Is it true that the only place bro code doesn't exist, aka, this so called idea that men cannot be emotional in front of other men, cannot show any physical affection (ie hugs, a pat on the shoulder) to their male friends, can't talk about their pain, and certainly cannot break down and cry in front of their male counterparts---only true if they are at a funeral? If it's not true, where else are men "allowed" to show emotions or say hug a bro, or do men just 'not do that?'

Do you think. it is right for men to openly berate and talk in a degrading manor about women and call it "banter" or "lads chat"?

In my office (I am a software dev for a financial firm) there are many men I am only one of 5 women on my floor. I have to continuously listen to men describing their perfect woman and what a woman's job should be or how a woman should look and if she doesn't then "good luck to them".

I've also recently been in situation within my team where one guy to another "you're the other man here you're the only one who can code review this" whilst I was on the call.

Do you think this behaviour is acceptable and do we really have such a long way to go before people realise what they're saying is disrespectful, rude and very ignorant.
