Here's the deal. Prom is on Friday. We are supposed to arrive at the cafeteria of my school at 5:30pm. We are not allowed to be dropped off and have to bus from the middle school over unless we have a yellow prom parking pass. They have police checking every car when it enters the high school parking lot. We are also getting security checked when we get into the cafeteria. We are not allowed to bring a change of clothes. Apparently people last year were taking their tuxedo shirts off and girls were changing into underwear and tank tops. If we bring anything bigger than a wallet or small clutch purse it's not permitted to go on the bus and stays at school. Those also get checked too. We do prom walk and get on the buses to leave at 7pm. We get at the hotel at 8:30pm and eat dinner (the whole thing is being held in the main ballroom). At 1am is when the movie room the other ballroom opens. 1:30am is when the breakfast buffet comes out. We are supposed to leave at 4am. We are not allowed to leave unless a parent comes and signs us out. They have security at all exits of both ballrooms and in the lobby. They have a female police officer in the girls bathroom by the sink and a male one in the boys bathroom at all times. They will have a DJ playing music all night, 4 photo booths, candy bar, cookie and cake bar, energy drink bar, ice cream sundae bar, soda bar, and snow cone bar. We will get back at approximately 5am. I already have my dress and hair appointment. The prom ticket was expensive as well. I am going with my friends and a senior invited us to sit at her table. (It's senior prom but if they invite underclassmen you can go as well). I am getting a ride to the school with the senior but my mom has to pick me up. We are not allowed to drive to the hotel the prom is being held at and if we do we are not allowed in. We have to take the buses.

I ask this because everywhere you go, it appears that women were meant for men. The way that a woman's beauty is glorified and that women are the ones that it is said to be of a successful man. He is said to be successful with a woman and women who are married live 4 years shorter than unmarried but men who are married live 10 years longer than men who aren't married.

The bodies of women are more adorned head to toe at every age. Little girls have hair bows, ribbons and barrettes in her hair but a little boy has nothing in his. A teen girl is protected by her father more than his teen son is. Her lack of sex is heralded while his lack of sex is questioned if he's homosexual.

At high school proms, a girl exposes her crevice area, arms, legs from knees down and sometimes back. Her feet are not covered with socks and her toes and feet are exposed. A boy at a prom is always covered exposing just face and hands. His neck is covered.

Even at church, a female can wear necklaces, bracelets and anklets but a male wearing anklets would be questioned as to his sexuality. Even if he wears bracelets or necklaces, he's considered not masculine by some, even though some necklaces and bracelets are just for men.

A woman losing her hair is far less like than a man losing his hair. If a male wears short shorts, he is considered homosexual. If a woman wears male styled overalls, she's considered cute.

My guy friend mentions guys we both know & that they might try to "finesse" me & laughs. We went grocery shopping a few times & one time he said "do you like those bananas" as a joke. When I mentioned another guy asked me out, he told me he didn't believe it & wanted to ask the dude if it was true & joked that the guy was "desperate".
I was at the pool once & he saw me but told me he didn't come to say hi cause he didn't want to see me in my swim suit. But then he said that it's not cause I'm hot but not cause I'm not hot but he doesn't want to see his friends who are girls like that. He also told me that he told his friend that I'm hot but then denied it. When I asked him if he thinks I'm hot, he told me that he didn't want to tell me cause he didn't want to either make it awkward if he does or offend me if he doesn't.
I also joked that he should ask me to prom if another guy didn't ask me & he bragged to all his friends about it. He also brags about how good he is at his sport (& exaggerates) & invites me to his games & lies about girls hitting on him & flirting with him (I am friends with them & they said it's not true & got mad at him). (We're both seniors in high school)
