This is my longest relationship. I know my boyfriend is going to go all out. He went over the top for Valentine's Day and out first date and hinted he's gonna go all out because he thinks I deserve it. I want to get him something special and over the top without spending all my paycheck haha. He loves comics and super heros. He is 23 but doesn't drink. He is a mech major and is hands on. He loves SciFi and leather bound books. I was thinking of getting him a 6 foot framed poster of all the marvel characters, a leather bound copy of Edgar Allan Poe, and a jar or box (nice one) filled with 365 things I love about him, and maybe a little something for when we're home alone ;). So I like this guy (whom I ask a gazillion questions about cuz I'm scared of screwing something up), and im basically trying to hint that im interested in him without flat-out saying it. I asked one of my guy friends about him, and he said "well, considering this guy is so shy and quiet, I can't really tell you what he would want to talk about because I don't know. He doesn't talk much." He also said "guys are normally pretty clueless when a girl likes them, and your crush is no exception. If anything, he seems to be the type to be even MORE clueless." So far, all I have hinted with is: a) a little note saying "you should talk more... Someone might wanna get to know you." (Totally implying something)-----b) I asked him if he was going to a dance earlier this month. He said no, but also explained he had a weekend camp thing he was going to, starting after school that Friday .-----c) our school set up a Valentine-sending thing for v-day where for $1 you could send a Crush soda to someone (get it? Crush?) and I sent him one. I didn't see him with it at the end of that day (when they were delivered), and my mom, who knows his mom, said his mom is super talkative and would definitely ask about it if she saw it, and that her take was that he was hiding it (lol). So, part of my question is, do you think I have broke the barrier of cluelessness? He was kind of staring at me more (I think) the first day back... Then we get a bajillion snow days. Also, what is the best way to get closer to him? He is really quiet and I have no idea how to talk to him! So all I have really done is imply that I'm interested and that's it. Whatever. What do you guys think?
