Search Results: stopped dating her when school started up again

My ex and I dated for about 3 months. He left me because he didn't think things were going anywhere sexually, and he didn't think they were going to. The weird thing was that everything was fine the week before, hell, even the day before. And I'm not just saying that because I was oblivious, he even said that it was all because of the night before that he was leaving. He's not a very open guy about his feelings, so he isn't the type of guy to talk about things and deal with them, he just leaves right away if he thinks something isn't right. He has a history of doing this.

We hadn't had sex yet, but we had stayed over at each others houses multiple times. We both decided not to have sex both of the times, but I guess that wasn't what he truly wanted. The thing is that, when the time came that he decided to leave, I was completely ready for sex. But once he has his mind up about something, he's not very open to talking through things.

We broke up in around the end of may, and by the beginning of July, we has started talking and hanging out again. It was really fun and we were really getting along. But then as summer went on, I left for my cottage and we didn't really keep up. I sort of had a thing with another guy for a very short while, and he was supposed to come over, but word has it that my ex talked to him at the gym that same day and had a talk with him, which concluded with him deciding not to come over anymore. I don't know what that's supposed to mean.

When school starting again, he was very friendly to me in the halls. He doesn't stop and talk to me, but he smiles and says hi almost every time we pass. And it's frustrating because he is acting the way he does right before we starting talking, and eventually dating. But that most likely means he just wants to be friends, I get that. But whenever we are out at a party, he is all over me and acting like we are best friends or like we have some sort of "thing." One time he was leaning on the back of my chair, and tbh it was really pissing me off because I thought he wanted nothing to do with me, so I tried to ignore him that night. But every time it's the same. At school, the next day, it's back to simply a smile and a nod, maybe a hello. Mixed signals everywhere!

Part of me really wants to inbox him or make some sort of move. It was easier for me to get over my ex of one year, probably because I know that didn't work out; whereas in this situation, it should have gone better. And I know we have potential. But when we broke up, he said really mean things and I don't know what he said to the other guy. I know he's really into his sports, and puts that before everything.. So that could explain why he hasn't made a move. But maybe he doesn't want anything to do with me. Or maybe he's shy.

Would it be worth going for an ex again who left for a shallow reason, but is a really nice guy? Does it seem like he still has feelings, or none at all? I'm so conflicted. I need some advice.
