Illness such as flu, colds, and other viruses are not pleasant. Nobody wants one. Having an illness can affect your social life, work life, life on the road, it can spoil fun events for you. A cold ccan lead to death for an elderly person with frail health. People know all that, I don't have to spell it out.

Now apart from going to your job to earn the money that you need (that is a gray area and some people would LIKE to see their annoying coworkers and twatty boss come down with the dreaded lurgi) do you think people should stay away from social events as not to affect others? Yeah you may think you are so tough, battling on, carrying on with life, but you are just making other people's life miserable.
For example: my family had suffered a long line of different coughs and colds that we were getting. After a while of finally feeling better, I attend a social event. A girl declared that she had a virus that was absolutely horrible, she clearly expected us to be impressed. I said that my family had been catching all sorts of illnesses but were finally over them. She gets this genuinely (not vindictive) happy look on her face, smiles, and is like, "Haha, well here is another one for you to have."
She did not wish illness upon me or my family, she was just so casual and joking about it. I did not get sick but my sister did. If she was ill, she should not have been there. What do you think?
