If you live in a house or an apartment building that has both of them, and you were forced to spend one entire night completely alone either in the basement or in the attic, which one would you choose?

Does one of them in your house really scare you? Do you hate descending to the basement to get a bottle of wine? Or do you feel uncomfortable about going up to the attic on your own? Or is it all totally cool?

In our apartment building, we have both. The community attic is sort of spooky because it's all wooden and quite old. However, the community basement is way worse. During the day I don't mind being down there but in the night I really don't like it. In Switzerland it's common for apartment buildings to have one community laundry machine that is shared by all neighbors living in that building (6-8 households). The laundry machine is typically in the basement. So, after hanging up the laundry I sometimes need to go down there to pick it up late at night and I really don't like that. The basement is kind of big with hallways and stuff and sometimes there are weird sounds.
