Okay so I have a best friend (im a guy, best friend is a girl) and we're both 19. Long story short I recently started to like her, told her, she said she'll think about it (and she really was by the way) and a couple months later after some stuff happened, she no longer wants anything anymore.

I gave up trying to be with her, and I picked myself up and moved on. She asked me recently why I never ask her to hang out anymore, and I told her "Well I dont think its a good idea for us to hang out 5 days a week 12 hours a day (yes we really did that, we were close) because im trying to move on. But you can still text me and ill always be here for you, and if you ever need anything ill drive right over" and she got upset and claims that I dont care about her.

Her opinion is "It doesn't matter if I gain or lose feelings, if someone rejected me/we broke up i'd still hang with them because i care about them"

Like I get her argument, I do... but i just can't hang with someone and move on like she can. and I feel really guilty because this IS my best friend after all.

Another quick thing I wanted to ask about is that me and her have been barely talking. i've made new friends with a different girl and we've gotten close (who is a lesbian by the way) and I said to that lesbian "I'm flattered you consider me a close friend, but honestly nobody could replace a girl named __(best friends name) in my life" and I screenshotted that and sent that to my best friend (who's been ignoring most of my texts now) and she replied with just "ok"

Like is she still upset or something? I dont get it. Also my best friend still wears our friendship bracelet i recently got her and i told her i was suprised she still wears it, and she actually did reply and said "havent taken it off"

Like can someone tell me what she's thinking? Should I feel guilty or did I do the right thing?
