I was out having breakfast with my best friend and her boyfriend. They have been together for years, she has been pulling away and she’s been checking men out more then usual. Because she suspects he’s cheating again, I think he knows this. There was a handsome man sitting across from us were we all could notice each other, my friend and this guy kept checking each other out and a few times so did her boyfriend. She had on hoodie on that was all white and splashes of gray, the edge of the sleeves near her hands was darker gray. As we were talking I noticed he was looking at the handsome guy and he went to fold my friends long sleeves, covering the dark gray then continued to look at the guy and her. Ok, why did he do this? I’m thinking he was showing hey she’s mine, I’m touching her she’s mine so eyes off, or he’s showing hey she’s dirty you don’t want her, or She needy so stay away or he wants the guy to check her out and she’s now available and he’s making sure the guy doesn’t see, what is it? Why would a boyfriend do that?

I’m wondering how many people have gone through a similar situation where you had to for your own self respect reject a guy or a girl that you really liked.

How did you feel afterwards? How did you heal from it?

I recently started talking with a guy that I had a crush on. His the one who approached me in the first place. He also showed interest only to slowly start pulling away. He started showing signs of confusion as to his desire to continue this friendship/ new relationship maybe love thingy with me. I felt my emotions being hyped up unfairly by him. He new I had an interest in him. I had a hint that he was approached by other girls too as a suitor. He confessed he is stuck in making a decision and doesn’t want to upset anyone. When he asked of me to stay in contact. I felt it was totally unfair of him to ask this of me while his going to take his precious time deciding what he wants. I felt like a doormat that he can come and say Hi whenever he feels like it. One thing I did was to never pursue him when he took his distance. I stayed indifferent and acted like I don’t care and don’t live for him. He promised to see me one day but never planned anything within those two weeks. I felt like I had to put my foot down to avoid more hurt. So I told him that it was best if we stopped being friends and moving on. He never replied back to my message. I’m assuming he didn’t care and I actually just made it easy for him.
