I'm being general here intentionally. I've used iron sights for a while but recently started embracing and exploring optics and even put a budget ACOG on my AR. However for optics, I avoid ones without an etched reticle for a few reasons, the first one being that I have astigmatism, so the red dot appears flared when I look down the optic, which isn't a big issue at close range, but if I intend to stretch my legs out, it becomes a big problem. Another reason is that I worry a lot that the battery will die and it'll be a huge pain in the ass, and for home defense, that can be a serious issue. My budget ACOG has allowed me to hit the bullseye constantly once I got it sighted in and I really love it, I'm now looking to put one on my AK as soon as I find a good mount for it. Which do you generally prefer, optics or iron sights?

It happened, love at first sight (LAFS), although I really find it kind of absurd / unreal how both of us really fell for each other just by sitting in opposite sides of the corridor. I never believed in that (LAFS), until I experienced it. Anyway, she doesn't reserve a bit to keep staring whenever I am around, that I feel sometimes she is screaming a message of.. I AM AVAILABLE!! COME AND TALK!
I only know her in appearance, otherwise 0% relationship. She is just another stranger person in collage, and with her staariiinng (staring), how I am supposed to respond.
I wish if I can just wave to her -in a mininal way-, nod (usual guy greeting, maybe shy guys) in a manner as if she is an acqauintance, so I feel natural if I start a conversation later on. I mean I want to reach the context: she's someone I "know", so we "normally" talk to each other. Is that subtle waving, small nod, or gentle greeting accepted if I do it? Or is it creepy, and a talk -even if a short one- should be before that "greeting of acquaintanceship" at least once?
