He invites me out to things or over all the time. In fact I may be the first person he actually invites. But I frequently am not the only person and he generally has other people around (if they aren't he has to give me several excuses as to why it's only us and why I may be better to have around anyway). For the record I don't care either way. He also takes me around all his friends and family, but doesn't really invite any other girls with us.
Around people he generally prefers to sit next to me, and he sits with his knee touching me, frequently has his arm on me (like smooshed up against me, never around me), and often lays his head on my shoulder recently (but only for a moment, like when someone makes a joke at his expense or a bad play happens in the game). But if it's just us, he will keep a lot of space and never gets close enough for either of us to make a move.
When he finds something he thinks I will like or will interest me, he blows up my phone. However on most days its radio silence from him (even if I'm sick he doesn't check up on me). I do ask him for help on some things and he never tries to actually help me.
He also tries to act like he knows me, better than all my other friends. Yet while he can recall all my favorite things, he never pays attention to anything I say and it's so annoying.
I have tried to get him alone, let him know of things that interest me, touch him in ways that communicate my interest, yet he never makes a move. The most I get is a random high five as a goodbye.
If I mention another guy in my life, or even just a celebrity he gets super defensive, jealous and pouts. But I've given him two years to make a move and I can't wait around forever.

We've been texting every day for several weeks now, even well into the night and early hours of the morning. He normally sends goodmorning/goodnight texts (accompanied by sweet dreams). Anyway our conversations are normally lighthearted and joking, poking fun at one another. Recently he began sending me pictures, random ones (mostly goofy selfies, one shirtless mirror). We've talked about hobbies and what we want to do later in life (like where to travel and what career), and we have many shared interests in music/TV/hobbies/preferences. Neither of us have brought up the subject of 'like' or dating at all though. I don't know how he feels about me, or whether or not he just sees me as a friend. Most of the time he initiates the conversations. We talked about our favorite TV shows, even staying up all night a couple nights in a row so we could watch an romance anime together (via text, not in person).
