Search Results: how long does it take to get over a crush

I've known and had a crush on this girl on my Facebook since high school and basically told her I liked her. She has a boyfriend, but I just did it because I was getting too obsessed and needed to move on. I have tried not saying anything, but over the years I kept coming back to her and thinking about the things I could have done or said. I tried thinking of bad things about her to see if that could help me get over her, but to no avail. Finally I recently examined my true feelings for her and decided the only way out was to just tell her. The thing is I only have her Facebook and I can't do it in person. So I sent her an email over Facebook to her which came out to be kinda long--I thought I should totally express myself--and I had to break the email into 3 because Facebook has this character limit. She does have a boyfriend so I took that in mind and said that I wished them both happiness even though I felt this way about her.

It's been about 2 days so far and no response from her. I noticed that she changed her profile picture which use to be just her smiling at the camera to her and her boyfriend since I sent the message. I'm kinda taking that as a clue that she at least saw the messages in her box but I have no idea if she read them.

Do you think she decided not to read them? Would you ignore the messages if you were this person (having a boyfriend. I think she's had him for almost 9 months)?

Some things you should know. I was pretty good friends with her during our junior year, then she suddenly started ignoring me during our senior year. It's been about 6 years or so since I last saw her in person. I'm ready to move on, but I just wish I could know that she at least read them once. I'll give her about a week, but if nothing happens still then I'll just have to deal with the possibility that she didn't read them. I just wish I could know the chances of her not reading it. She hasn't deleted me from her Facebook so there's that.
